This will be my first and last time I'll ever go in there was a few weeks ago and there was only one price tag to label three shelves of large cans of sugary drinks. This price tag red 99 cents. The only other price tags belonged to the freezer below. I went and I grabbed quite a few my favorite because they were at such a decent price. I even took a picture of it show the cashier if bring up at a different price. To No Surprise when she rang it through they came up $3.49 when I showed her the picture she began to almost make fun of me saying that it was silly for me to assume that it was only $0.99. And that if I read the fine print the drink that I choose was not in the description. although the young lady was correct, but if that was the case they should be putting every single drink that was on that shelves description on that single price tag. I of course have a firm understanding of merchandising practices because of being in retail for over 15 years. I challenged her and ask her to call back to her manager, this young lady has a lot of growing up to do as I watched her as she described my question to her manager. She should of remembered that others can see and hear her. And nobody likes to be mocked belittled and question seemed so stupid, she spoke of my question as if it was annoying to her or I was stupid 4 even asking her to do this.
I guess what I'm asking is what is your procedure here? What do you instruct your staff to do in this situation ?
This really turn me off of this store, but then for her manager 2 completely comply with what the young cashier and not correct or educate her young staff properly on what guidelines they need to remember that the Canada's Better Business Bureau merchandising and pricing standards is the law. And how important it is to not take shortcuts and label your...
Read moreTerrible customer service. We will not be shopping at this location EVER again. Here is the breakdown:
My hubby and I came here to grab a few items of clothing, while browsing we noticed a young man clearly homeless and possibly mentally delayed. We minded our business and continued shopping. When we approached the cash registers, the lady about to serve us named Robyn B didn't greet us.. and instead turned to her coworker and said "Omg. There's that gross guy who told so-and-so to give him my number the other day. Look he is RIGHT there!" My husband and I started loading our items for purchase on the conveyor belt while "Robyn" gossiped to the other cashier, and basically belittled the homeless man shopping in the store. She then said "one sec ill tell you after" and turned to us to scan our items and process our payment. It was really disheartening to see these two women flat out talk down about some guy in the store. Maybe he did ask for her number, regardless its not something to gossip about infront of other customers. It's not what we want to hear, plus it's just rude and unprofessional.
So THEN, when she began to scan our items.. Robyn asks me "do you want to purchase a bag?" I take a pause and begin to say "Ummmmmmm-" when she interrupts me and goes "Its a really tough decision to make I know" which totally threw me off. The only reason I hesitated was bc I thought I brought a bag but had realize it was left in our car. My husband then chimed in and said "Sure we will buy a bag".
How RUDE can one be? It was so unnecessary.. because of this we will NOT be returning to this Giant Tiger location.. and we are sure to tell everyone we know about...
Read moreI took my older aunt and mom, and our experience was marred by several issues. Typically giant tire are a great place so I took them there while they were visiting from another country.
Both my aunt and mom were overcharged at checkout. When my aunt politely pointed out the mistake, the employee not only failed to apologize but also made a scene, causing unnecessary embarrassment. This behavior was extremely unprofessional and disappointing.
In contrast, the other cashier who assisted my mom was polite and quickly rectified the overcharge without any fuss. Her professionalism was a welcome relief, as my mom was 76 years old.
While the store itself was clean and well-stocked, the repeated overcharging and the unprofessional behavior of one particular employee significantly marred our experience. They did find some good deal and was happy to get great items. It’s a very nice store with lots of great prices and deals. Free parking and wheelchair access My 2 star is based on the experience not the reflection of the store and the great prices. I wanted my over 10 million readers to know it’s a great store. Pay attention to your...
