We have been in Montreal a couple of days, on our first night we used the Marche Tradition supermarket around the corner from us. We found it all a bit unloved, cheap, and very expensive. Today, we went to Épicerie Basta, the difference is amazing. It has a great selection of quality goods, at a very reasonable price (for Montreal) the place is also spotlessly clean and inviting. I found some interesting stuff like vegan carrots hotdogs, sparkling water flavored alcohol water, and beautifully wrapped spices and herbs. The staff was super friendly. I recommend this shop for quick item pickups but it's a bit small to do all your shopping... not impossible though. If you are someone that doesn't like alot of options but wants quality... here you go.
