I got botched.

I unfortunately had a really disappointing experience with Fatima on Tuesday. From the start, it felt like she was mocking me, she commented that my hair was “so dry,” and when I mentioned wanting to cut off the dead ends, she made a gesture implying that all my hair was dead. I found that unprofessional and unnecessarily hurtful.

I should have trusted my instincts and left, but instead I stayed and ended up with the worst haircut I’ve ever had. The ends are uneven, and the bangs look blunt and poorly done, as if they were just chopped straight across.

It’s really disappointing, as I used to think Mat & Max was decent for a quick fix when in a pinch, but after this experience, I can’t recommend...

I've gone to the same old Italian barber for 30 years. I recently moved to Montreal and Friday was my first visit to this shop. I was apprehensive because I've never gone to a "fancy salon" for a haircut before...I even hesitated going inside while standing in front of the shop, but I am very happy that I did. Not only did I get the best haircut of my life from Rachelle, she was also incredibly pleasant and made me feel at ease in this "strange" new environment. I've never been good at choosing a hair style so I told her to chose for me...she nailed it. I feel lucky that I ended up in her chair. The whole experience was great and I'll definitely be back to see her for all of my haircuts in Montreal....

Today was my first time at the salon. I was a little scared and didn't know what to expect because I don't get my hair cut often because of past bad experiences. But I was pleasantly surprised by my whole experience. My stylist Thalia really made sure I was comfortable through all the steps. I'm not very talkative but she made sure to ask my opinion at every step and she took time to explain what all my choices would look like and how to make my chosen hairstyle look better.
