Osteria mkt — Restaurant in Montreal

A group of us came here for a nice night out for a bachelor party and someone in our group heard great things about here so we made reservations and here we are writing about it now.

Very cool artsy hipster like modern restaurant with an open concept kitchen in the back. The menu has the perfect amount of food to choose from as well as a full wine list. They do offer beer but only 2 types on bottle and nothing on tap. I really enjoyed their food and and service. This is a very nice place to take that special someone for a nice relaxing dinner, it's small and cozy but not small to the point that everyone is cramped together. It's a good sized restaurant that can fit about 80 to 120 people from my guess.

When we sat down our server brought over a plate of fresh bread and a plate of what looks like brushetta but instead of bread for the base it was a refreshing block of fresh mozzarella.The Calamari Alla Piastra (grilled calamari) was very tasty tender and not tough at all cooked to perfection highly recommend it. The Filetto Di Manzo ( filet mignon ) was also cooked perfectly and paired with truffle mashed potatoes drizzled with a red wine reduction, the sauce was very deep and flavourful. The grilled tuna was very fresh light and complex this comes with a mix of fresh veggies as well, this one is a daily special not on their daily menu.

I know BYOW is very popular in Montreal however this one is not a BYOW. Their wine selection a full menu with probably a selection of close to or over 100 types. The price ranges from $45 to north of $600 depending on what your budget is and by the glass is about $10 to $15.

Our server was always on the balls or her feet always swinging by to check that we had our sparkling water topped and wines topped. She was very friendly and always smiling, whenever someone would leave the table we would find her folding the napkin back and placing onto the table very nice touch.

It's not expensive to eat here but not cheap if you order a bottle of wine I think on average if you don't order by the bottle you can walk out paying around $60 to $70.

Would recommend to anyone looking for a fancy...

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had when it comes to organizing a private event! I recently hosted my sister’s bridal shower at Osteria MKT, and the entire staff was incredibly professional, attentive, and accommodating from start to finish.

The manager, Leo, and our hostess, Micaela, were especially amazing. They were always available to answer any questions we had and made the planning process so much smoother. We had originally reserved a private room upstairs, which was lovely but a bit tight for the number of guests we were expecting. During our visit to see the space, Leo suggested we use the main dining area instead, as it offered much more room and would be a better fit for our vision—and he was absolutely right. That flexibility truly elevated the whole event.

One of the things that made the experience even more stress-free was the fact that they allowed us to drop off all of our decorations and desserts the night before. This small detail made a huge difference, giving us peace of mind on the day of the event. On the day itself, the staff handled all the setup and did an outstanding job bringing everything to life just as we imagined.

The food was delicious and thoughtfully presented. Our menu included three appetizers, a main course, and dessert. I loved that they served all three appetizers—it was the perfect way for everyone to try a bit of everything. Everything was reasonably priced, especially considering the quality of the service and the experience overall.

If you’re looking to host a private event, I highly recommend Osteria MKT. I’ll definitely be returning as a customer. Huge thanks to the entire staff for making my sister’s special day...

I celebrated my father’s 60th birthday at Osteria Mkt, and it was an amazing experience. The portions were generous, the food was fresh, and the atmosphere was welcoming with friendly staff. Based on that great experience, I decided to return for my own 30th birthday celebration. Unfortunately, this time, things didn’t go as smoothly.

The portions were much smaller than before, and many guests left still hungry. When we spoke to the manager and asked if more food could be brought out, he told us it was based on the menu we chose and nothing could be done. The group menu we selected was the same one we had for my father’s birthday, but the portion sizes were noticeably different. While we encountered a few other issues, I’ll spare the details.

However, we decided to reach out to the restaurant to share our feedback, and one of the owners, Perry, took the time to listen and understand our concerns. He was genuinely surprised by our experience and immediately offered a solution: a complimentary meal for $500 to make up for our disappointing visit.

We returned last night as a group of four, and I’m so glad we did. Perry greeted us warmly and explained how the offer would work, even mentioning that any unused portion of the $500 would be given to us as a gift card. The service was exceptional, and the food was phenomenal. We all left feeling incredibly satisfied.

I’m so grateful to Perry for his thoughtful response and for ensuring that our visit was a memorable one. Despite the hiccup on my birthday, I truly believe Osteria Mkt is a fantastic restaurant, and I’ll definitely be back. Thank you for turning things around and for your commitment to customer...
