I normally get my haircut at Salon Pure, but I wasn't able to book an appointment with my regular hair stylist. It's very hard for me to find time in my schedule for a bi-weekly cut. So I decided to go get my hair cut at Max&Co as my last resort for a simple cut. I have been to Max&Co in the past and was always satisfied, unfortunately this time everything went wrong.
I have grown my hair for about a month and a half in order to cut and style my hair in a certain way. And I showed this particular stylist, with the help of images, exactly what I wanted which was a simple cropped cut. As soon as the clippers touch my head I knew everything was wrong. I just felt so uncomfortable, because I was shocked and upset throughout the process. She litterally shaved the sides of my head all the way to the top with out creating that fade effect that I requested anda she barely cut nor textured the to of my head. My appointment was at 1pm and she finished my cut at 1:15pm. At the momment I did not want to make a scene so I got up and paid 35$ and still gave her a tip.
I thought that everything would be fine, because hair grows back right? I looked closely in the mirror in the washroom and noticed that it looked like a Chinatown 10$ haircut. If that is what I wanted I would have just gone to chinatown for a cheap haircut. Everything was uneven and it looked like I had a toupee on my head.
To put things in perspective, I told her that I was a Fashion Design teacher and that I AM IN FASHION. The hairdresser should understand that, my appearance does play a role in my carreer. So for me there is no excuse for allowing me to leave with an awful haircut like that!
The other only reason why I am generously giving Max&Co 2 stars is because I went back and asked the receptionist if there was another stylist available to recut my hair and Jalil approached me and looked at my head and said that he would try to fix what was done. He clearly saw that there was an issue and that I was very upset.
He managed to do what he can to make my head look less like a mess.
I was really expecting to leave this place with a decent haircut because that is what I have always expected and gotten in the past.
I just wanted a simple cropped cut with 1'' of hair on the top of my head... Instead I left there with an almost shaved head.
I am still very upset, shaken and unsatisfied with...
Read moreI'm only writing my review now because I messaged them 3 weeks ago and they didn't care to reply to me. I would strongly advise people not to go to this location if they need hair coloring done. The 1st time, they completely messed up the color and it faded within ONE WEEK even if you followed the usual advice to keep your color intact. I went there for a FREE redo (confirmed by their customer service) and they agreed to do it for free BEFORE starting but mid-bleach, they came to me and said it would be 65$ because supposedly the hairdresser was using a different technique. I felt absolutely scammed and disrespected. PLUS the end result was even worst than the 1st time so i asked the hairdresser to redo it on the spot and his coworkers came to me to complain and say like ''The color is fine, why don't you like it... ?'' I just wanted a uniform looking color and I had different patches of color all over my head. The coworker of the hairdresser told me it would be DIFFICULT to get a uniform color (note that my hair was all natural before they messed it up the 1st time, it shouldn't be difficult to make a uniform color). The color ended up looking better but the hairdresser didn't care to dry my hair fully nor brush it (i know i didn't pick the styling option but not letting your customers leave with wet hair is the basis of a hairsalon). THAT MADE ME FEEL ASHAMED DURING THE WHOLE RIDE BACK HOME IN THE METRO. The hair dye ended up staining my clothes (now ruined) and my whole upper body for a week. I do appreciate that they let me redo my hair for free but the whole experience was a NIGHTMARE and I will not be coming there again. I felt GASLIGHT, SCAMMED AND DISRESPECTED by their...
Read moreI walked into the salon last week feeling absolutely defeated with my hair. I hadnât had a proper cut in ages, and I was terrified that if I chopped it, Iâd regret it forever. But then I sat in Fatimaâs chair â and that I had Fatima as my stylist. The way she listened so carefully to what I wanted, the way she explained what would suit me, and the way she guided me through the process step by step made me feel like I was finally being understood by a stylist for the first time.
Since I left, ive had strangers asked where I got my hair done. Thatâs how good Fatima is she doesnât just improve your hair, or give u a haircut, she changes the way people see you and leaves ur hair healthy for a lasting time. Her skill with layering, texturing, and styling is next level. She knows how to work with different hair types, how to give you volume without frizz, how to shape without making it heavy, and how to leave it looking effortlessly chic. And the best part? It still looks incredible even after I wash and style it at home. Thatâs the sign of a true professional. To anyone sitting on the fence about booking, let me just say this: go see Fatima. She has a gift. Sheâs not just the best stylist in the salon â sheâs the type of stylist people remember for years. If I could give her 100 stars, I would. Fatima is the reason I walk into that...
