Tan Tan Wok — Restaurant in North Bay

I used to frequent here it was a good spot however today, Dec 31 I got my usual combo with 3 items, sweet and sour pork, spare ribs and lemon chicken with chow mein, everything was okay until I had the pork, I have about 13 years of professional chef work experience and I'm telling you that pork was foul, I almost threw up on the table, I calmly and professionally approached the counter ( I waited until nobody was there) and I told the individual who served me that there is something wrong and they can't serve that, I was met with a defensive reaction " I'm not the one who cooks it" and I reassured them I'm not trying to light you up, I knew they were having a rough day, I was gentle but I told them to tell the managers. The worker was younger and handled it pretty well, I made sure to be gentle and not cause a scence however I'm a professional, which leads me to wonder how and why I was served something that destroyed my appetite and my trust in the safety practices at Tan Tan wok. I hope the business isn't reheating food from previous days and exposing it to the danger zone for the sake of saving money. Great service and food! The service was quick, and the cashiers were some of the most cheery people I've met. I stopped by recently on my bi-weekly trip from Sturgeon to Sudbury, and was not disappointed. Ordered a combo for myself and for my friend, and the prices were reasonable for the quantity of food - it kept me full for the whole day. They're always putting out new food, so I have something new to try. Staff was arrogant when the order was being placed. The food was not good whatsoever. The chicken seemed stale and was like rubber (making my mom sick)

When we went to ask for a refund, they called two other people from the back, who asked what we got and argued that those are "top sellers" and "there is nothing wrong with the food here"

They eventually offered a replacement, which to be honest was no better. Had they had better customer service, I would have let it go...
