Don't sign a membership contract for a one-year obligation, the gym doesn't fulfill what it promises in the sales pitch and when you are dissatisfied with the quality offered they don't accept complaints well and don't cancel the contract or charge you a fee for cancelation that I was ok to pay for, they say that you signed and have to pay for 1 year. They have no obligations in the contract, it only states your obligation to stay for a year no matter what happens to you inside. I signed a contract with Goodlife before and canceled it without any problems to switch to One Health. And this only applies to naive people because I referred two friends and they signed up like me without obligation, they can leave whenever they want because they didn't accept it, when I questioned them they said I couldn't withdraw, in other words, the rule only applies to people who trust them. Because it was apparently a good gym and the closest one to home, I signed up for membership. The information is only provided with a scheduled visit and you need to listen to the sales pitch and in it they say that the gym has a higher value because of this it is an emptier gym. The gym is small as the months went by, it became more crowded, and now I often leave the gym without being able to finish my workout because the machines are occupied and there are few of them, one of each, even when the gym is not so crowded, people have In the habit of use 3 to 5 equipment at the same time, the gym staff themselves don't make the logistics easier and use several equipment at the same time, or when they are teaching a pair of people doing the same workout, they also don't put together an intelligent strategy occupying several machines, people “rent” the machines with towels, bottles of water, and it becomes impossible to do the training within an hour and instead of going to the gym and leaving well, you leave feeling stressed. Many rude people, in a last episode a man decided to squat on my face while I was exercising on the floor. There are only spin bike where they do classes and if you want to use even if the class have 3 students who are not going to use the spin bikes I was not allowed to use or enter the room, in the weight training area there is no space for exercises on the floor and taking everything to the other rooms would take a long time. The gym refuses to cancel the contract and doesn't give a damn, it just reminds you that you signed and you can't cancel... rude people can be everywhere but a bigger place makes it easier for you to have other options or if you're not happy you can leave and go somewhere else... at one health you are...
Read moreI was a member at one health Clubs around 7 years ago and had a great experience with my workouts and physical results, as it had everything needed in terms of free weights and machines which are definitely on the more modern side, while being super clean (including the change rooms which I do use to shower at peetty much every visit). I had such a good experience with getting to know other members and staff that I told the head trainer Andrew (still there) that once I had completed my schooling for and courses for personal training, I would return and hopefully he'd see me on board in 6 months.
Well things turned out that way and I could not be more grateful. From having been a part of many great transformations and fitness journeys of my previous clients (Deb, Sandra, Adam - if you read this I'm especially proud of the 3 of you to this day and am very happy you are all still regulars at the club) being exposed to the constant staff development, getting to know and staying with a great team of staff, it's been an experience I can genuinely recommend both on a customer side and a now managerial side.
The oakville location is much bigger than it looks from the outside so come check us out- the mississauga location is great as well. I live in Clarkson so I do often go there for my own workouts on my off days to mix things up and utilize their facilities. If you are looking for that extra help and motive for serious change- I am also very proud and confident in saying that One Health Clubs offers some of the highest standards of Personal Training in the GTA as a trainer I had access to many resources aimply unavailable at other places (i.e. one on one programming feedback from our sports medicine Dr Hamid as well as other textbook like staff such as Andrew our head trainer).
Wherever you end up, wish you all well in your health and fitness goals and hope you...
Read moreI wish I could give this place a zero star. I signed for a year after getting an exception to train with my personal trainer via google meet. Of course, I had to use my phone and I did for the last three months. I used to work out outside of the peak hours and I was always very respectful having my private session via google meet. Unfortunately, I was approached in a very abrupt way in the middle of my session by Alyssa, the GM. She asked me to turn off my phone or cancel my membership. Even though I explained to her that I was promised an exception. She could have waited for me to finalize my workout. No, she had to interrupt in a very abrupt way. I ended the google meet session and I asked to finish my workout. After finalizing it, I canceled my membership.it was very misleading allowing me to join the gym just to make me going through such a disrespectful experience. Alyssa should get a better training on customer service. I have been training with my personal trainer for 3 years via Google meet, thus developing a friendship and a professional relationship. I have already found a new gym that values my business and is open to new technologies. It gets very busy during peak hours which I avoided. I only joined one health because it is a walking distance. There are much better options, Where unhappy female member doesn’t complain about seeing a respectful and quite member like myself working with a trainer via Google meet and where the GM is polite and got...
