Hi all, London Gold was referred to me from a very good friend a while back. It is located a few doors down from their previous location in the same plaza (A small downsizing). The people at London Gold are Polite, Honest and Helpful. I have had the pleasure of dealing with this company on more than one occasion. On my first visit to them. They were honest and straight forward with their assessment and repair. I was more than surprised at the outcome of my first visit. They not only repaired my jewellery. They put a whole new shine on the bracelets. They made them look newer/better than they had been in a very long time. The Pricing for my Repairs was Excellent. The second visit was very informing. I learned a lot about my jewellery. Information I was not aware of. The watch I wanted to repair was not of any great value. If it does not have sentimental value to me, then I should watch what I spend on any repairs. The man at London Gold said to me that at this time he would like to help me out. By sending me to a Watchmaker on Lakeshore road in Clarkson Ontario called Roman's they are at 1725 Lakeshore Road west in Clarkson just west of Port Credit. They gave him a good rating of his serviceable knowledge about the piece I needed fixed. I called Roman's they said come on down. I will do this very shortly. I thought about what the man at London Gold had said; "We don't need to charge you a fee to have the piece sent to Clarkson". He smiled and gave my jewellery back to me. You can call and go see Roman's directly... Honesty this is what this London Gold business is all about. I find them to be a great economical choice. Go see them if you have a need to, ask a bunch of questions. I am sure they will treat you nice. Tried and true....
Read moreI brought my ring to London gold to be resized. It’s a vintage inherited piece.
After about a week I was called to pick up my ring. Upon picking up the ring I noticed significant problems and damage (as follows). Solder used in the process was dripped on the head of the ring. The original jewelry markings from the 1940’s (including the 18k and jewellers stamp) had been removed. The ring was incorrectly sized to 4.25 instead of 4.75 so is now too small for me to wear. The ring was also damaged and is now lopsided and crooked. So, pretty significant issues and a lot of carelessness.
London Gold also expected me to pay for damaging my ring. I gave London Gold a second chance to repair the issues. They called me after a week to pick up the repaired ring.
When I picked up the ring the solder had been removed but the ring was still incorrectly sized and lopsided. I gave London gold a second chance to repair the error and they didn’t. They handled this whole situation like it was a joke.
I would expect they would treat things with more care and competence. I now have to take my ring elsewhere and pay someone else to repair the damage done.
I will never get back the removal of the jewellers branding stamp and the ring will need some work and cost to repair. The carelessness by London Gold has been very upsetting and stressful.
I strongly advise you bring your jewellery elsewhere unless you want to run the risk of your jewellery being damaged.
I included a picture of the lopsided ring below so you can see their...
Read moreI want to say how impressed I have been with London Gold on both occasions that I have dealt with them. The first time was when I had lost an unusually-coloured pearl earring and hoped to get it replaced. After being told by another jewellry store that it couldn’t be done, London Gold had it done in days. A perfect match!
Today I am delighted with the work they have done on some rings. I brought in three rings. One, a 110 year old wedding band that belonged to my grandmother that needed to be resized. Another diamond and ruby ring required resizing and repairs to the claws. The third ring was an antique ring in very poor shape with missing stones and damage to the setting. I wasn’t sure that anything could be done to repair it, but I knew that I would cherish it if it could be done. It has been beautifully restored and I...
