Service we received today was dismissive and rude. We have been purchasing a specific loaf regularly for a long time, it has always been offered to be sliced. Never had an issue. In the last 2 months, we are being told (only by 1 staff member at this location) that it absolutely cannot be sliced due to cross contamination. Yet every other staff member does it.
Today was one of those days. The aforementioned staff member refused to slice the loaf and refused to explain the "why". We asked a second time, "what is cross contaminating from the loaf? We get this sliced all of the time". Instead of answering our question and helping us to understand she dismissed our concerns and immediately repeated her original statement; "unfortunately we cannot slice it".
The products are great here but it appears that staff need some basic training in human communication.
UPDATE: After being contacted by corporate and then the Store Owner, it was explained to me that this location made a decision to stop slicing any loaves containing "dairy" for their vegan/allergic customers. I suggested to the Owner that they should consider an "allergen free" specific slicer just for that reason.
Inclusion doesn't work when you exclude another. For your other customers whom require and rely on evenly sliced pieces (vs pulling apart unequal chunks/hand slicing) such as Type 1 Diabetics, this poses a problem.
Until Cob's considers a separate slicer in order to create an equitable experience for all customers (whilst not excluding others), we will no longer...

Frankly, I was really disappointed. Customer service is incompetent! You call to place a order. The service rep Rihanna, calls the owner to verify that they can do it, the owner mentions yes as long as I would order 2 loaves! Ok that’s not a problem. 9:30am pick it up. I get a call at 9am the day of the pick up to tell me they don’t usually do the specific bread I asked for unless I order 3 loaves, (which wouldn’t of been a problem if I was told the day I ordered. What gets to me, is you speak to the owner and the owner doesn’t know you need a minimum of 3 loaves for them to take that order.
And that’s why I don’t go to Cobs. Should’ve Tried Panera.....at least my experiences there when placing a order was always met. Can’t comment on the flavour of their breads, but what’s the point if you order for example an apple and get told we can’t do it, but here’s...
Read moreVery rude staff and bad customer service. This morning when buying bread, I nicely mentioned to the staff that their hand sanitizer machine sensor was malfunctioning and the lady rolled her eyes at me. I asked her why she rolled her eyes at me and she ignored me. Then the owner came out didn't say anything at all and also ignored me. No sorry or anything. So snobby.
I buy bread from cobs at another location almost every day, and I've never seen such snobby staff and service. Very cold and rude behaviour here to unwelcome you. I don't understand why do you roll your eyes at me for trying to help you? They alsohave bad hygiene here as they don't wear gloves when picking your bread. They also always rush me to pick bread whenever I visit this location and give off a cold attitude. If you want bread, don't buy from here. This is the worst cobs location I've...
