Used to love coming here until the middle of last summer when I had a very bad experience with Chris he store manager.
Had issues with another store regarding different glues, Chris and the other store managers are friends they talked about it and Chris decided to harass me one night and started sticking his nose I. Where it didn't belong. Chris made some. Very rude and hurtful comments towards me regarding my painting skills and that I "had a massive chip on my shoulder"
I left the store that night with a bad felling in my gut and was pretty anxious.
I wrote Chris a message on Facebook to apologize in case he was having a bad night or something and got a very hateful and rudr message with him being offended over me using tamiya brand paints when I was starting out instead of expensive citadel, at the time I was 16 and had no money to buy paints with so my dad bought me tamiya to start with.
Other things included buying used models of Kijiji somehow offended him, idk but anyone else with secondhand models watch your back!
Amongst other hateful things said he mentions I bought my airbrush somewhere other then from them, compition exsits and it was cheaper elsewhere for the same brush.
Overall the store is not worth going to if this is the way people are going to be treated.
Stay away...
Read moreI wanted to thank Chris and Jay for all there assistance over the past week. These poor guys had to put up with me for 3 days at least. I bought an air brush finally took the plunge, Jay was the tipping point his incredible knowledge and candor while discussing the merits of the concept combined with his commentary on the product as a tool for applying paint to models convinced me. Chris was no slouch after the sale was made Chris walked me through all the basics and made sure I had all the paint and other supplies necessary to begin painting. Both of these guys ran me through a boot camp. I was taught about washes, high lighting basic and advanced painting techniques both of them hoveredover me in store and helped me gain confidence with my new air brush. My first subject an exocrine from the tyranids faction of Warhammer 40k turned out amazing once again Chris' extensive knowledge of the Warhammer range of models benefited me and created my incredible result. I was always interested in airbrushing and many times came close to buying one, I am glad I waited and bought from Lords of War this store and its owners are committed to their client.I would recommend paying them a visit if air brushing is on your bucket list...
Read moreI visited the shop back on April 15th or 16th. I was "in the area" aka visiting Niagara Falls from the States and had to swing by as I watch their YouTube channels. Chris (one of the co-owners) was there and was friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and understanding. The latter compliment is due to my 5 year old daughter's penchant for looking around, touching everything, and asking a million questions. He entertained them all and even helped me snag a few boxes of Warhammer models. The shop is a cut above the rest in terms of model and paint inventory along with extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. I wish I had a store like LoW near me; the shop and the owners make me want to revisit Niagara Falls or Toronto just so I can have an excuse to give them more of my hobby dollars. Chris even threw in a gift after my purchase as a thanks for coming all that way to their shop; I'm still humbled by that. I know it's just a LoW shirt but it was an incredibly kind and thoughtful gesture. Check them out (and their YouTube channels) and buy some hobby supplies and models. You will not regret it. Keep being...
