I am posting to make a complaint and request that the driver of Oakville United Taxi 1#30 receive customer service training. On Wed Oct 26 2022, just before 6:00pm, I was at a pedestrian crosswalk with a friend and our two dogs. This is at the intersection of Bronte Road and Sovereign Street in Bronte Village, Oakville. We were crossing east to west. We pressed the button to cause the overhead crosswalk lights to flash bright yellow and waited until cars coming from both the north and south lanes of Bronte Road had slowed to a stop so we could cross safely. This crosswalk has functioning lights and large, clear signage stating that cars must yield to pedestrians when the lights are flashing. I looked one way while my friend looked the other way to make sure everyone stopped so we could cross. Looking south, I saw Oakville United Taxi #130, a dark silver Toyota sedan with a middle aged male driver, in the north-travelling lane stop at the painted road lines for the crosswalk. I made eye contact with him and waved to acknowledge that he had stopped. My friend and I, each holding a dog leash, started to cross Bronte Road east to west. Halfway across, my friend yelled out and I turned south west to see taxi #130 had crept up right to the crosswalk lines, less than 2 metres where I was walking and less than 1 metre from my dog, who was walking behind me. I yelled out too to make the driver stop because we were not finished crossing and his driving behaviour was unsafe. Neither my friend nor I said anything offensive nor swore or did anything to the driver or the vehicle. The driver of taxi #130 rolled down his window and started yelling back at us angrily. Within 30 seconds, his behaviour deteriorated to the point of screaming obscenities at my friend and I. All of this while he continued to creep forward across the crosswalk in his taxi. After I called out to him "I have your number" referring to his taxi #130, he sped off northward on Bronte Road. I am horrified by the conduct of your driver, especially at an engaged pedestrian crosswalk regularly frequented by seniors (there is a retirement home at this cross walk) and young families. This is absolutely unacceptable conduct by any driver, let alone a taxi driver of an award-winning company. I have emailed Oakville United Taxi to kindly follow up with this driver with...
Read morenever traveled with you guys but i don't think i ever will. i was crossing an intersection on foot today (Pine Glen Rd and Third Line) and a driver turning right honked really hard at me while almost running into me as i walked past her car (she was turning right from pine Glen Rd onto third line). Um, pedestrians have right of way during a green light, and you should always check for pedestrians and cyclists crossing at any intersection!!! cars are more responsible for checking for pedestrians than...uh... nearly hitting and honking at us for crossing the road properly? literally basics of driving any vehicle. it was very rude and she gave me a big scare because her car was right next to me on my left. I highly suggest that you ensure your drivers are sufficiently educated on basic road rules (!!!!!!!!) before allowing them to drive random customers around town! It's honestly shocking that a taxi driver who should have the experience, knowledge and care about this stuff did this. kind of scares me to imagine what kind of ride experience your customers get. please, please, please for the sake of everyone's safety, make sure your drivers are qualified. and if they're not, either fire them or educate them a little on...
Read moreVery very disappointed on the customer services. I booked van couple of weeks ago and told that we are 3 passengers with 6 big bags going for Toronto airport. She reserved the van for $69. Just one day before our departure, the lady called from the cab company and said that she is just reconfirming the time and day of service. I reconfirmed on the phone. Right after couple of minutes I again got the call from her. She said that she talked with the van driver and the van driver told her that there is no space of 3 travellers and 6 big bags in the van and I have to book one extra cab to accommodate everyone. To my utter surprise, she said that now the rates have also been increased and I have to pay more. I had less than 24 hours of departure and I didn’t had any choice. I had to book a van and a cab at increased rates for the service. I am amazed how the cab company is doing business and defrauding customers at the last hours. Sheer sheer...
