Saigon - Asian Street Food — Restaurant in Oakville

The best Banh Mi I've ever tasted! Although I've never traveled to Vietnam, I've sampled street food across Canada and beyond, and this spot truly stands out. I ordered the short ribs Banh Mi, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was moist, juicy, and packed with incredible flavour.

When I asked for it to be spicy, they definitely delivered – it was perfectly spicy, hitting all the right notes without being overwhelming. I regret not taking a photo because I devoured it before even thinking about it! I'll make sure to add one after my next visit.

To top it off, the atmosphere was fantastic. There were three guys waiting outside for their orders, and a couple eating inside who was raving about how good the food is. It's no surprise this place has such a great reputation – wow, what an experience!

Highly recommend giving this place a try if you're a fan of Banh Mi or just great...

A delicious first visit that invites you back for more.

Quality ethnic food is hard to find in Oakville. In fact, a search for 'banh mi' and 'Oakville' only yield two results (and the Other one is bad).

Upon discovering this place, I had to check it out because I love banh mi's. Happy to say that I was not disappointed. In all fairness, I only had one banh mi, but it was quite good, certainly enough to bring me back.

I had the Vietnamese BBQ pork and it was yum. Tender pork that's easy to bite through, a sauce that is not too sweet and not too much sauce on the sandwich. Do I detect a little bit of liver that adds some earthy flavour? The bun was fresh with a light toasting (stale bread kills a banh mi). $9 is very reasonable.

Staff are pleasant, with one kind enough to bring the sandwich to me outside as I waited with my dog.

Looking forward to trying the other banh mi's and...

This place is a fantastic addition to the downtown scene! I just had lunch there and everything about it was amazing. The service was incredible. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, making sure I felt comfortable and explaining any dishes I had questions about.

For food, we tried the Bun Bo Hue and the braised beef Banh Mi, both were outstanding! The Bun Bo Hue had a rich, flavorful broth with perfectly cooked noodles and beef. The braised beef Banh Mi was equally delicious - the meat was so tender and flavorful, and the pickled vegetables added a nice crunch and freshness. The portions were generous, and the prices were very fair. We will definitely be back to try more dishes!
