I rented a unit for 1 year. I asked to leave early, the owner agreed as I moved in with my partner. Debbie was unprofessional and incompetent. The day of my move out inspection, after it was completed and after we had weekly discussions regarding the status of me being able to leave, she told me I had to pay a half month for 'admin fees' for leaving early. (She also accused me of smoking inside...the owners were appalled to hear such an accusation about me) The owner of my unit(who lives upstairs!) had to tell this company that I would NOT be paying $750 to move out 1 month early. She stated those fees are paid by every tenant who leaves early because the owners would be charged the admin fee for bringing in a new tenant. I gave 3 month's notice, I had to post my listing to Facebook and get potential tenants as I was also told I couldn't move out without penalty unless a new tenant was found. I was told for 2 months no 'good' candidates had put in an application to rent my unit. (In a rental crisis? Can't find a tenant??) 1 week before I moved out they suddenly found a tenant. Well first we started with Eileen who gave us a real good overview of the different cities in the South Okanogan. Then, to look in Penticton, we dealt with Karrie Grewal. Very pleasant and informative, she told us about all the 55 plus places in Penticton and their characteristics' - this was very helpful in our search. She narrowed it down so that we only got listings we were interested in. Karrie and her husband showed us a couple of places. Even though they were very busy they met our restrictive timelines. She helped us with an offer on one place which got too competitive. Then on the way home we got a listing we liked and so her and her husband did a 'facetime' tour of the location. She helped us put in a great offer that saved us money and we got the place. On possession day she met us there but the keys wouldn't work because someone locked the screen door so she called around and resolved the issue within an hour.
