During our vacation in Penticton, we stumbled upon a remarkable dining experience at the grand opening of Kin + Folk. It was an evening filled with delightful surprises and unforgettable moments.

Kin + Folk immediately won us over with its laid-back and welcoming atmosphere. The staff exuded warmth and friendliness, making us feel right at home. The menu offered a diverse range of flavors and culinary delights, catering to various preferences and tastes.

The attention to detail at Kin + Folk was evident in every aspect. From the careful selection of ingredients to the meticulous presentation of each dish, it was clear that the culinary team had poured their heart and soul into creating a memorable experience for their guests.

The service was exceptional, with attentive staff members who went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful recommendations and accommodating any special requests we had.

Kin + Folk's beverage selection was also impressive, featuring a variety of options to complement the dining experience. From unique cocktails to a well-curated wine list, there was something to please every palate.

Overall, our visit to Kin + Folk's grand opening was nothing short of extraordinary. The inviting ambiance, attentive service, and exceptional culinary offerings combined to create an unforgettable evening. Whether you're a local or a visitor to Penticton, I highly recommend checking out Kin + Folk for a dining experience that will leave you with...

I live in the neighborhood and have walked by this restaurant many times and finally got a chance to try it. The reviews looked great and I was excited to try it. I really wanted to love it, but I have to say I was underwhelmed.

I went there with two others for dinner. The menu is intended for sharing but we found it a bit difficult to pick items that we thought would make a coherent meal. The menu seems more conducive to have some appetizers with your cocktail. And maybe that’s the point?

We had the lettuce wraps with pork belly. They looked beautiful but tasted just ok. The pork was basically pure fat (I know pork belly is fatty, but I usually expect some meat mixed in?)

We also had the Saigon street chicken. I usually love fried chicken, but this was very dry and seemed a bit over cooked? The family bread was also quite dried out and not very moreish.

But the worst was the short rib agnolotti, which had very undercooked/raw pasta dough! They were kind enough to make a new batch for us, but we had all eaten one already before we realized it was raw. The new batch was much better, but the experience of eating the undercooked dough was unpleasant and kind of ruined the experience. It was also quite expensive and the portion very small for the price (and not a super easy dish to share?)

Overall, none of the dishes quite hit the spot.

On a good note, I had a non-alcoholic mint & passion sparkling lemonade and it was delicious! I might go back just for that! But not sure I’d come again to have a meal....

TL;DR: Kin & Folk is a must-visit! From the charming ambiance to the outstanding service and delicious Asian fusion cuisine, this place deserves five stars!

Celebrating our anniversary at Kin & Folk was an absolute delight. Nestled in the heart of Penticton, the positive buzz from previous reviews is well-founded.

The outdoor seating was delightful. A giant maple tree growing in the middle of the patio added a touch of nature and warmth to our dinner. The ambiance was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the evening.

What truly stood out was the impeccable service. Our waiter orchestrated the meal, delivering each dish with a cadence that ensured there was never a lull. The attentiveness and timing showcased a level of professionalism that was truly appreciated.

The heart of any dining experience is the food that flourished at Kin & Folk. The Asian fusion showcased flavors and creativity. The undeniable highlights were the Pork Bao Buns, Five Spice Agnolotti, and Sesame Tofu Cabbage. However, every dish we ordered was delicious, and nothing disappointed. For instance, I'm not a fan of Tiramisu, yet I wouldn't think twice about ordering the Miso Tiramisu for dessert again in a heartbeat.

Kin & Folk is an undeniable gem. My only concern is securing reservations in the future, as Kin & Folk is undoubtedly on the path to becoming a...

I cannot believe how terrible this meal was, almost ruined our whole trip. Their happy hour menu is fake. It looks good at first sight but the foods have all the sides/add-ons removed. So you’re not really saving much money. We saw someone getting the happy hour fried rice, and it’s like the portion for a toddler. Our burger and fries costed $21, and tasted dreadful. The place claims to be Asian inspired, but it was neither good Chinese food nor American food. The ingredients frankly were just not fresh and low quality. Beef patty was burnt and fry, the chicken katsu is tastes like day old KFC, and all the burger buns literally crumble into pieces when you grab them. Fries are some of the worst I’ve ever had, very weird texture, doesn’t taste fresh. The server never asked how my meal was, just gave us the bill and we paid and left. The only reason it’s not a 1 star is because of the nicely decorated dining room. I guess they spent all the money on renovations and zero on buying ingredients and training the kitchen team. I would never recommend anyone to dine here.

We were greeted quickly by the cheerful, young staff. The decor is simple and fresh. We started with the Orange and Sage Soda, Espresso Tea Martini and for the non-alcohol Raspberry Rhubarb Fizz. All of the drinks were flavorful, made super pretty and went down easily. There are many gluten free options. I'm Celiac and was surprised that I could enjoy so many of the dishes. We demolished the following dishes, for real we were almost licking the plates. Scallops and Prawns, it's like a creamy ceviche. Got chills with this one. Sweet and Sticky Ribs, yes my friends these are gluten free and finger licking good. Ginger Scallion Crab pasta with perfectly cooked gluten free pasta, this was my fav, big chunks of crabs, mmmm Pea Mochi on a bed of beet puree, they are just the right amount of chewy, smooth delightful softness. The music helped the vibe with soul and r&b creating a lovely chill afternoon. We enjoyed every dish and our servers were helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for a great afternoon
