“I purchased the protection plan in good faith for my family couch, but because I run a small in-home daycare, the warranty was voided .. the manager Tim was very rude. He said, I should have told his staff that I ran in home daycare, but I had no idea that would affect the warranty. I advised him that if it makes a difference in the protection plan that question should be asked by his staff to all customers He argued with me and refused to give me back my refund for the protection plan that was void. I am expected to fix the couch at my own expense even though I purchased a protection plan. My adult children and I have been a very loyal customers of Leons for many years. I am appalled by the customer service that I received from the Manager. He refused to acknowledge that they had any responsibility in this. It's selling me a protection plan that I was not entitled i to but they were happy to take my money . I called the company that does the protection plan and they called leons and the protection plan company agreed to give me back the money, but leons would not budge. I want everybody to be very aware that once Leon gets your money, they do not care about what happens after that. I have never been spoke to so rudely, disrespectfully from a manager in all of my life. I want people to be aware of how they treat you, and the couch that I bought is falling apart after four years. Read moreBEWAR OF DECEPTIVE MARKETING & LIES. Here are the facts. On August 31, 2024, I purchased a dishwasher that was marketed to us as a floor model demo. We were told the unit had never been used. There was a small dent on it that we were OK with.
When we got it home, we found the drain hose had already been cut down to size when someone else installed it in their home. This was when they told me it was a refurbished unit, not a new floor model (as indicated on my invoice). The unit came with a 1-year warranty, and in December 2024, three of the screws holding the front panel on the door came out. Their tech told me the screws are stripped (probably from refurbishment).
I spoke with the store manager, who told me he couldn't warranty it because they don't have any. They offered me an in-store credit but refused for repair, replacement or refund. Furthermore, the front of the door falling off is cosmetic and not functional (The front of the door has the handle to open the unit and all the controls).
They deceived us by misrepresenting that the unit was new and that they would warranty it for one year. They had no ability or intent to fulfill the warranty, and I refused an in-store credit. I will not be playing their games.
Buyer beware. They are currently under investigation by the Competition Bureau of Canada for deceptive marketing practices. If you've fallen victim, I recommend filing...
Read moreI’d give them a zero if I could. First I went to the clearance centre. No one greeted me or offered to help me even though it wasn’t at all busy. When I found the guy he treated me like I was an interruption to his day. So I left.
Went to the actual store, paid more but got what I needed. The salesperson was a very nice woman & that made my day. Went around back to pick up my items. I wrongfully assumed the loaders knew what they were doing. They loaded my items incorrectly, didn’t tie anything down and didn’t tell me it should be but is my responsibility. Needless to say without being tied down one of the items fell off the back of my truck. It’s completely trashed and now I’m out almost $600.
Called Leon’s the next day. They never even asked my name, just kept referring to me as “hunnie” and “my dear” and basically told me it’s their policy not to do tie downs and it’s my fault that I didn’t notice the “great big sign”. They’re unwilling to offer me anything but sympathy.
Terrible customer service (except for the one salesperson mentioned) and quite frankly callous attitudes. I’ve spent big bucks on appliances at Leon’s before, spent about $1600 this time and was intending to buy all my new appliances from them when I get my kitchen renovated. At this point they’ll never have my business again.
I recommend folks go somewhere that values their customers…...
