I've been going to Phoenix Rising for years, and am never disappointed. The selection of board games is excellent, and the owner is very knowledgeable about the games and able to make great recommendations based on games that I enjoy. He has also special ordered many things for me over the years. His prices are better than anywhere else I know of, and he has frequent sales (anniversary sales, and the famous "Tanksgiving Sale" for example). He carries a wide selection of Games Workshop products, the best I've seen outside of a GW store (without the predatory sales staff that seem endemic in GW stores). He carries a great many other games as well, including Bolt Action, and various RPGs. Phoenix Rising also provides ample game space in the back, which allows for the opportunity to meet with fellow gamers and to play in a warm and welcoming environment. Read moreOrdered a Warlord Games British Carrier Section. This product is 50pounds (~$80) on the Warlord Website. When I came into the store, the owner didn't know how much it would be, apparently couldn't look it up and requested a deposit. Having seen the product on the site myself I deposited $40 (approximately half what i expected). I arrive to pick up my order and the total is now $110+tax. Warlord also has free shipping global currently, so I could have ordered the product myself for just the $80. Upon showing this to Brian I was told he would not refund my purchase. So glad I chose to support my local brick and mortar hobby shop.

Wasn't even a minute later the other customer left and employee was just staring at me the entire time I guess.. Any other girls reading this you know the stare I'm talking about.... It was super disturbing so started looking at the other wall. I turned my head so see if he was still staring and he had his phone pointed at me and pretty sure he was taking pictures.. I immediately left and crossed the street where my car was parked and he was now standing to the left of the door behind the big window still staring......
