We moved into apartment 1102 on august first. After a long day of deep cleaning and moving our stuff in, we were ready for bed. After laying in bed for a few minutes we saw beside us a bug crawling. We then saw another, and another and another. We searched the entire apartment and found up to 30 COCKROACHES. WE HADNT EVEN SPENT A NIGHT IN THE APARTMENT!

After finding the infestation, we drove 3 hours to our home town at 2 in the morning because of how disgusted we were. I contacted Ron, the building manager and informed him of the issue right away. He told me the it would be almost a week until pest control could come in. I told him that was ridiculous and that he needed to get someone in there the same day. After telling him that, he did bring pest control in. The pest control did not thoroughly do their job. They put "gel" around the living room and that's it, when I specifically told Ron that the Cockroaches were EVERYWHERE.

After taking the time to think about the situation and looking at other reviews on how there have been cockroaches there for years, we decided we would not be living there. We contacted Sterling Karamar, explained the entire situation, and told them we would be backing out of the lease and wanted our money back. And, of course, they were useless and did not give us our money back, even though WE HADNT SPENT ONE NIGHT THERE. THIS HAPPENED THE VERY FIRST DAY OF MOVING IN. Our personal belongings were damaged, we had to throw out a brand new couch we had just bought because the cockroaches had laid eggs in it. Sterling Karamar was informed of all of these things yet, we were not given ANY of our money back.

This company is DISGUSTING. And so is everyone who works for them watching this happen and scamming people out of there money. If you see a promotion from them saying "first month free on a 13 month lease" ITS BECAUSE THERE BUILDINGS ARE INFESTED. Please, save yourself a couple grand, and your sanity and DO NOT rent from them. They may comment back on this review saying how they "are working with senior management to help with the issue and take very preventative measures against pests" ITS A...

RENTERS BEWARE. I'm not the type to write negative reviews but living here is a nightmare that I wouldn't want to see anyone else suffer through, especially considering how costly of a mistake moving here would be.

Within our first week, cockroaches were spilling out of the dishwasher by the hundreds. Pest control will make you move everything in your apartment just to ignore the worst areas. Almost any floor you go to will have pest control notices on the doors, it's all 12 floors. I've had to clean up puddles of pee in the stairway on multiple occasions because if I don't, they will sit there forever - same goes for any garbage or other messes. Laundry machines are definitely not maintained or cleaned, my clothes come out dirtier than they go in. If I could split the cost of rent with the roaches I wouldn't have to pay more than a few dollars a month. They had the audacity to raise rent prices despite the disgusting state...

Something to note based purely on location is that the building is by a grade school. If do not work days you will be bombarded with school bells and children screaming.

Ron is a decent super and definitely tries but he can't solve everything.
