Anyone can be great when there’s no problems. I ordered a custom dining set back in early December 2018- waited ten weeks for it to be built- the table was full of workmanship issues- this is a very expensive maple table. I immediately contacted the store and rattled off a list of flaws. After weeks of back and forth and no one wanting to admit to anything wrong with the table, I told them to take it back and build me another from a different manufacturer. They agreed but said they wanted the other table back ASAP- As Slow As Possible.... their table sat in my dining room for 7 weeks while I worried about it getting damaged . My new table took another 5-6 weeks to build. In the end, it took five months to be able to sit in my dining room. A lot of disappointment and stress over what should have been a joyous experience. I’m not impressed with The manufacturers of these products- Woodworks and Canadel. For this price point, there should be some quality control. The part that bothered me the most was lack of validation to my concerns. According to everyone, there was nothing wrong with my table. His father would be very proud that he is carrying on the Business that was started 50 years ago. None of my questions was too silly and I felt that the “respect of customers” is the foremost quality that Derek exhibits. It was a huge purchase that I was embarking on…and Derek respected the hesitation that I was feeling and never once did he pressure me to proceed with a purchase. He was exceptionally patient as I took my time choosing the right fabric and the exact colour that I wanted my Sofa to be. I was given a quote on the price and the date that I could expect my sofa’s construction to be completed and delivered to my home. My BEAUTIFUL Sofa arrived exactly when I was told it would. One summer day we were riding our bikes around Cloverdale and came across this store. So happy we found this store. Deborah and the owner Derek are fantastic and the store has beautiful things for every area of your house. We purchased an electric La-Z-Boy recliner, and the whole experience was fantastic. We will definitely be back to purchase another one. These people really care and treat their customers with respect and appreciation.
