My 21 year old son committed suicide last year and I last week got the Board Inquiry results into his death. I was very down and decided to try a little retail therapy. After literally two decades of supporting this woman and her business, I went to Triciaās Gems. I live close and have been going to Triciaās jams for years. And I donāt mean supporting her business once or twice I mean spending thousands upon thousands of dollars there over the last two decades. Tricia was selling dresses for $25 each. I picked up five and went in. I wanted to see if she would do five dresses for $100, (old stock, valued customer??) but her 3 giant dogs were distracting me so I accidentally said $200. Iām actually thinking maybe she keeps her dogs at work with her to do this kind of thing to people and Iām not even joking. You get distracted by her beautiful dogs, and then she scams you! I would like to point out that there was a huge sign on the window that said all clothing items were $25. BUT, instead of having any kind of integrity and mentioning my mistake, what did Tricia do?? She of course, said SURE; rang through 128.80 on the card and then twice specifically asked me for $100 in cash. She knew exactly what she was doing. She saw an opportunity to take someone for $100 and she thought she would take it. I thanked her profusely for the great deal she gave me ( and even tipped her $15.60 on the bill even though she literally did nothing to assist me while I in the store) and went back to my van, where my daughters said, mom that woman totally scammed you. Within four minutes of leaving the store we went back to get a refund. At first, Tricia said the dresses were marked down that day. LIE I have photographic proof that it was at least two days before because I had told a friend that their dresses were on sale two days before that. I had also bought a dress there the day before for 25$. She then proceeded to say she got stung by a bee that day, and that she was just having a bad day. She knew darn well what she had done as did her husband who was standing there as did her staff member who was standing there and they were all OK with standing there, watching her scam me. After listening to two or three of her excuses and she would not take responsibility. I took my sunglasses off and looked at her right dead in her face and said yes, and I have a dead son. Would you like to go down this route? Iām So all in all, she scammed me for over $100. Then she made excuses for her behaviour and lied to me about the date of the sale. Her staff watch this all unfold. I want every single person that I can tell about Triciaās to know that they should not shop there; the woman has literally the worst business practises of anybody Iāve ever met, ZERO integrity. I highly do not recommend spending your hard earned money at her shop when there are so many other small businesses that would truly appreciate your business and are not scammers. I have photographic proof of all of everything Iāve said here today. This is also not the first time Iāve had an issue with Tricia. She is often quite rude when you are in her store. Like I said, although Iāve been a very good customer of hers, she is so high up on herself that she didnāt even recognize me when I walked in the door of her store because if she had, she wouldāve known better than to try to scam me, and she wouldāve realized who I was and that I have been dealing with her for years and years and years, but because I had my sunglasses on and she didnāt recognize me. There is literally so much more to the story, but it wonāt let me...

I brought a new customer in for them because I was so satisfied with the services recieved the first time I visited and got my rose quartz bracelet and charm. All to be accused of stealing while shopping here during my second visit. I don't take those accusations lightly. My friend I brought with me spent $500 in this store and was shocked at the treatment and will not be coming back as well. As a nurse and family business owner myself I was honestly disappointed and upset at this customer service. The lady was kind at first with assisting us and then turned to say two bracelets were missing from the Jade collection I was looking at. I was walking around with two different jade bracelets than the ones that were "missing" with smaller beads but at the end decided we didn't like those and I gave it back to the lady. She then said that, "it was suspicious two jade bracelets are missing and now I don't want the two I was holding." I explained to her again that the only jade bracelets I had in my hand was those two that I gave back to her so I wasn't sure what to do about that, like? it's not my job to monitor their inventory. I also explained we didn't want them because my friend decided to get a rose quartz bracelet like mine. Anyways, I helped her look for the "missing" bracelets by retracing my steps. which is not my responsibility or job. Even told her to check security cameras, i emptied my purse and pockets. I just don't appreciate being accused for something I haven't done nor will ever do. This has never happened to me in my life. I left my number and haven't received an apology. No one deserves to be racially profiled, which I hope wasn't the case but came off that way when only I was accused of stealing and not my friend. As a business owner in the future tricia's gems should consider having customers stay at the display counter to avoid accusations and lost items, because blaming a customer is not a good look, not professional, and just unfair. Still not sure how that would make sense to be a customer, bring another customer in to spend $500, to go steal something? ridiculous. I have so many other friends that were admiring my bracelet and asked where to buy gems/stones, I will not be recommending this store to anyone. that experience really ruined...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is rare these days to shop in a store where the owner shows as much top-notch customer care, attention, and obvious passion that Tricia does. I found Tricia's Gems online and made the long drive to visit, specifically to browse their Pyrrha collection. As a long-time fan and collector of the brand, I was truly blown away by their large collection, which boasts the newest collections as well as many retired and discontinued pieces (much to my delight). There is something special about getting to see and try on a piece before you buy it and having the pleasure of hand picking the one you like best. This is something that is simply not possible when shopping online.
I was in the store for well over an hour, slowly trying on various treasures, asking questions, learning about the brands they carried, and meeting all the lovely staff, including the three cutest dog friends. For the entire time, Tricia and the other staff shared their time with me, showed me everything I asked and more, answered all my questions, and generally showed me a wonderful time as a customer. They greeted every single incoming customer like old friends and I could tell that all the patrons were genuinely happy to be shopping there. It is easy to see that this shop is a keystone in the community's local business scene and I count myself lucky to have finally visited them in person.
If you are a fellow jewelry magpie looking to add some new treasure to your collection, Tricia's Gems is THE place to go. There are so many knick knacks sure to please anyone who visits them though, and you are sure to find something you love. I know I did. Thank you, Tricia! Looking forward to shopping with...
