Must watch film but ruined the spirit by the irresponsible management and audience. Yesterday went to see the film "Dies Irae" at the 8:30 pm showing at Albion Cinema Etobicoke, and I'm disappointed to say that the overall experience was quite poor because of the audience behavior and because of the theatre policy. The film itself was excellent, as it was a well-executed horror thriller with an intriguing storyline. However, I was unable to properly enjoy and appreciate the movie due to the disruptive behavior of other audience members. It felt like I was watching the film on the street with full of noises, rather than in the controlled environment of a cinema.
While the theatre facilities themselves were adequate, the behavior of many other audience members completely ruined my ability to engage with the film. Despite it being rated an "A" certificate, meaning no children are allowed without proper adult support, there were multiple young kids and even infants present throughout the screening making troubles.
Children and infants should not have been permitted for this "A" certificate film, as the content is likely inappropriate and unsuitable for young audiences unless they are controlled by the accompanying persons. Their constant noise and disruptive behavior was extremely frustrating. My friend had to leave his own young child and wife at home, as we it is inappropriate, and to respect others, yet many other parents disregarded the age restriction. The theatre management clearly failed to enforce the rules and ensure an appropriate environment for this more mature film. To make matters worse, there was also a very loud and disruptive family seated behind me. They were talking loudly, opening noisy snacks, and even making obnoxious comments about the plot during key moments in the film. At one point, when the lead character was meant to be alone in a pivotal scene, their questioning of "why is this guy living alone?" completely ruined the intended atmosphere and emotional impact. Throughout the movie these family was in conversation with others by making these kinds of comments. Why this kind of people are coming to theatre? If they want to seethe film like this why they cannot wait till the OTT release. They should learn how to respect the other audience.
Overall, my experience was severely diminished by the complete lack of respect and consideration shown by many of my fellow audience members. I expect more from a cinema when attending an "A" rated horror film. The theatre should be upholding the rules and restrictions to preserve the viewing experience for all patrons.
I will be reaching out to the film's producers and distributors to make them aware of these issues, in the hopes that they can work with the theatre to improve policies and enforcement around appropriate audience conduct. A film like "Dies Irae" deserves to be viewed in a controlled, respectful environment. Unfortunately, that was not the case for me on...
Read moreSubject: Complaint About Denied Washroom Access After Late Movie Screening
Dear Albion Cinemas Management,
I’m writing to express my disappointment regarding an experience my family and I had at your theatre recently.
We attended the 9:45 p.m. movie show at Albion Cinema. The show was delayed due to technical issues and began around 10:15 p.m. We had no issue with the delay and enjoyed the movie. However, once the movie ended around 12:40 a.m., we went to use the washroom before leaving, and the cashier at the counter refused to let us in, saying it was closed.
This was extremely inconvenient and unprofessional. At that hour, there were no nearby washroom options available, and it is basic courtesy to allow patrons to use the facilities immediately after a movie — especially one that ran late due to the theatre’s own delay.
What made it more disappointing is that my brother was already in the washroom at that time and confirmed it wasn’t actually closed. After some argument, we were finally allowed to use it, but in a rush.
We had also purchased popcorn, samosas, and drinks from your concession stand earlier. It seems unreasonable that the theatre happily sells food and beverages but then refuses customers access to the washroom once the show ends.
I hope management reviews this incident and reminds staff that customers should not be denied access to basic facilities right after a screening, particularly at midnight. This would go a long way toward improving the guest experience and maintaining the good reputation your theatre has built in the community.
Thank you for your attention to this...
Read moreI recently visited Albion Cinemas to watch the movie "Avesham" and had a fantastic experience that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I booked my ticket online, the process was seamless and user-friendly, setting a positive tone for my visit.
Upon arrival, I was impressed by the ample parking available, which made access to the cinema both convenient and stress-free. The cinema itself boasts a modern and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by the friendliness of the staff who were attentive and helpful throughout my visit.
The auditoriums at Albion Cinemas are exceptionally comfortable, with seating that allows for an enjoyable viewing experience. What stood out the most, however, was the sound quality. The Dolby sound system delivered crystal clear audio that perfectly captured every detail of the movie, enhancing the overall immersive experience.
Additionally, the cafeteria offered a good variety of snacks and drinks, which were perfect for enjoying during the movie. Having watched "Jailer" here previously, I noticed a significant improvement in both service and technology this time around with "Avesham".
Overall, my experience at Albion Cinemas was memorable. The combination of top-notch facilities, friendly staff, and excellent movie presentation makes it a premier destination for movie lovers. Whether you're coming for the blockbuster hits or quieter, indie films, Albion Cinemas delivers a superb cinema experience that is worth every penny. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great...
