My favorite community center of GTA so far. Been to around 6 community centers in Richmond hill, toronto now, this is my favorite. No homeless, no “dying slowly” vibe, no rush service, no weird ppl. I joined the women’s basketball Monday night, it was pure gold. The arena is awesomely finished, clean and respectful environment. Perfect for young working professionals!! This is gonna be my main community center from now on

The indoor playground for kids / babies is beautiful. Many different activities to play / learn. There’s a rooftop on the 4th floor that you can sit and enjoy the sceneries. There’s also a basketball court as well.

Most of the staff at Canoe Landing Community Recreation Centre are genuinely warm, friendly, and welcoming. They engage so well with the kids and consistently create memorable, positive experiences. My son participates in many of the sports programs, and it’s clear that the instructors truly care — they put real effort and attention into teaching, encouraging, and making every session fun. Kudos to the Tuesday Soccer class teachers!

My children especially look forward to seeing Tommy, whose energy and connection with the kids always stands out. And on Friday nights, Cheryl is wonderful at engaging with the children and making them feel included and excited to participate.

Overall, the team at Canoe Landing has made a meaningful impact on my kids, and we’re grateful for the enthusiasm and care they bring to the...

You will never play Badminton here.

It's full.

You will wake up at Thursday at 8AM sharp when the new listings appear and refresh your browser, praying to get a spot only to find they are all booked already, by people with presumably faster internet than you.

Determined, you'll show up 45 minutes early to a session hoping for a drop-in spot.

You're wait-listed. The drop-in spots are full.

As a reward for being so early, you are 14th in line to claim one of 8 spots assuming the people who "secured" the drop-in spots already decide to go home.

This process will repeat, week after week after week.

You will never play Badminton here.

EDIT - Also the staff are super unfriendly...

I don’t understand the policy here. My two friends registered online for drop-in soccer and asked me to accompany them. But the onsite staffs said here doesn’t allow spectators??? I mean I just want to sit by the court side and watch that’s all. I don’t see why I can’t even do this? I mean if you want to support sports and recreation, aren’t you supposed to build an encouraging atmosphere but not leave others out and don’t even let them just watch??? Maybe there is safety issues or something but I haven’t encountered anything like this in any football fields. This rule is just totally unreasonable...
