Caribbean Corner — Local services in Toronto

I know this third wave is testing the best of us, but during the second wave there was a staff member monitoring the doors and number of customers inside. When I arrived today there was no staff monitoring the door and no line. I looked in and found no direction from staff. When a took a few steps in, a graying female staff member bellowed to me not come in and I needed to wait. I apologized and she pointed to a sign on the door. But the door was fully open and consequently the sign wasn't easily visible. The staff member later said too many customers were inside. I have been going to this store since I discovered it around 1980, It is so nice to see that almost 40 years later they are at the same location still supplying people from the Caribbean with all the groceries they need just like we are back home. I don't think there is one Jamaican living in Toronto who doesn't know this Caribbean Grocery. and I don't know what we'd do without them. I went there yesterday, purchased a bottle of Maltlevol12 Tonic, but when I got home I couldn't find it, When I called them they told me that I left it right there and they have carefully put it away fir me until I can pick it up. Wonderful variety of Guyanese spices and produce. I bought some soursap and it was perfect. My only regret is not buying more. The lady at the front door was so welcoming and over and above kind answering all my questions and giving so many wonderful suggestions on where to find other items and directions within the market. The grocery clerks were the same. Their generosity and helpfulness was beyond my expectations. I am visiting Toronto from Alberta and I am so pleased to have found this market. When in Toronto again I will shop here. I'm already planning my next visit with this shop on my itinerary. Thank you for your exquisite service...
