Wanted to get some local fresh cheese and tortillas but then I saw their Jarritos and some have gone bad (been shelved too long where the colour changes and becomes whiter fluid). I've had horrible experiences in the past about getting expired cheeses, Jarritos, or even frozen foods in other Latino markets. This has been a staple growing up. I shared my concerns with the owner who is eating at the cash with his fingers and handling food. Some things you let go. I was buying a $22 cheese and asked what their policy was around expired cheese (things they sell). He said he couldn't return it or do a swap but I was welcome to open it in house. I had to decline that because I wouldn't have access to a fridge in the next bit. He didn't care about losing business. It's a shame. Problem was, the corn being sold had a moth infestation. After arriving home I realized that the maiz chulpe had moths in all its live stages, many dead moths and many pulpae.
