Short version; I'm a dummy, Ryan was kind and Sylvan Electronic was great. Contact wasn't a problem.
Longer Version; What a dummy, and to be clear that's myself I speak of. I had an issue with my television and they came out under warranty to replace a couple of components. Ryan (the onsite tech) was polite, well presented and quick, fixed the issue, or so I thought.
My father was the one home at the time of repair and once I got home from work I checked the TV and it turned on but nothing after that, the same problem with being unresponsive still existed. I called and emailed with this. They were quick to respond. Ryan made the trip out, he put his batteries in my remote and it worked. I'm that guy! I've heard of 'these' people but never did I think I would be one. it was the batteries. My only defense, we tried 3 different sets including one still sealed (but apparently very old). We tested them, all bad. What are the chances 3 sets would be bad. I'm buying a lottery ticket tonight.
The final point, I was home this time and when Ryan, myself and my father realized it was the batteries, Ryan didn't even break stride. Ryan was kind, I deserved to feel like a dummy but there wasn't a trace of that, only helpful and kind.
I'll be telling my close friends this story, they'll love this, I'm one of...
Read moreWe brought in a Pioneer Plasma TV to get an estimate for repair. After a two week waiting period, we were informed that the media receiver was shot. My husband told them that we would discuss the situation, and let them know what we wanted to do with the TV. We decided to try and purchase a used media receiver on e-bay ( we had originally paid over $4000 for this TV, and it still had a stunning unbeatable picture). My husband e-mailed to tell them we would pick it up. We were told at that point that his assistant mis-understood the work order, and threw the tv in the recycle bin, cracking the screen. They offered my husband his diagnostic pre-pay fee back. The following week, we received a call offering us a replacement TV. I feel they went above and beyond, trying to keep us happy with a replacement, and I'm happy that we reached an acceptable compromise. It isn't a Pioneer, but it's a larger working plasma. This review has been edited to reflect their efforts to make an unfortunate accident right, which we greatly appreciate. I would have given them five stars for that level of customer service if the offer had come...
Read moreI live in Sylvan lake and wanted to keep the business local, we had an electrical storm about a month ago that fried my 75" along with other electronics. Unlike others here that gave a deposit, I never had the chance as I decided to call a different place because these guys never answer their phones or like to return emails. I was quoted $500 for the part and when they asked if I wanted to proceed, I said yes. After a week and a half of no response back, that's when I decided to call someone else, only to be told today that Samsung no longer makes the parts for my TV. So now these guys have dragged out my insurance claim for over a month now and I found out within a 3 day timeline from a different electronics repair company that my TV is officially fried. Save yourself the time and headache and DO NOT...
