The Big Moo Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Town of Sylvan Lake

Large selection of hot drinks for a cool day at the lake. Prices are possibly slightly more than competitors, though it’s a minimal difference to get the larger size up on a drink. Nice location right by the lake. A selection of options for toppings on hot drinks: “whipped cream,” chocolate, cinnamon, the works. Be aware that the “whipped cream” is actually whipped topping and does not taste like real whipped cream and does not have real cream in it. It was quite a long wait to receive 4 hot drinks after paying, and they were lukewarm. Unfortunately the whipped topping on our drinks was rancid; we informed the staff so hopefully that was thrown out though there was no apology. Looks like they have some very interesting options for burgers; the food other people were eating looked good. No dairy free options for hot drinks; at least the workers at the counter was not aware of any dairy free options.

Covid related: Staff seem to be keeping on top of wiping down all the tables and benches. Floor is marked with tape for keep people 6 feet apart. Sanitizer at front door. Plexiglas sheets along the counters. Staff are...

I wish I can give this shop zero star because the service is bad and the food is bad and the customer service is really bad because at the cashier we payed for cheese for our burgers and literally nobody had cheese in burgers and after the mistake I want back to them they were 3 of them and they don’t know how to deal with our food and I ask for no bacon which is they put bacon I ask her also no onions on them they came with onions like what’s wrong with you guys like can you guys just listen first and take our order correct because we were very disappointed and literally just listen to what I’m saying for my order because I ain’t getting this for free because I’m paying money first and second I have the right to tell you guys what’s wrong and what’s right because all the food was wrong literally I wish one order came right I wish the manger or the owner can take that service serious and tell them to just focus on orders that’s not my business if you guys speak English or if you guys can’t read it that’s also not my business period. Utterly Delicious – Moo-ved Me to Tears 🐄🍦

If you're in Sylvan Lake and not stopping at The Big Moo, are you even doing summer right?

From the moment you see the giant cow out front, you know you're about to embark on a dairy good time. The whole place is udderly adorable—spotted walls, cow-themed everything, and enough ice cream flavours to make a grown adult cry tears of joy (or maybe that was brain freeze).

I walked in for “just one scoop” and walked out with a double-stacked, candy covered, waffle cone the size of my head. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat—and maybe with a spoon next time because it was moo-ch to handle.

They’ve got something for everyone: ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, and even burgers if you want to pretend you’re here for a “balanced meal.” The staff are sweet, fast, and patient—even with indecisive people like me who ask for six samples before panicking and ordering cookie dough anyway.

Pro tip: eat your ice cream lakeside like the majestic beach cow you are.

10/10 would stampede...
