Solmaz is a GOD-SEND.

I was referred to her from a close friend (who also sees her) when I had experienced a bad root retouch from another hairdresser.

Solmaz took such good care of me, making sure I understood what was going on, asking how my scalp (which was super sensitive at that time) was feeling, and she used a special formula to help calm things down. She also told me the other hairdresser had actually used a shade that was a bit too dark for my complexion. Thankfully, she was able to give me a shade that complimented my skin tone WAY better! (And made me look much younger!)

Not only have I gone to see her about root retouches but also for highlights. And when I wanted to get blue highlights for fun, she actually asked me what my future plan for that blue colour would be! It shocked me and I had no idea how to respond because I hadn't planned on it. To help me decide, she explained the whole process about how my black hair would require a lot of maintenance and care (plus tons of bleaching) and it would cost me a TON of $$$ to take care of it.

I have never met a colourist who isn't there to blindly work on someone's hair but someone who cares about their work so much, someone who will make sure you understand what's going to happen, and can explain every step of the way. PLUS, someone who understands the meaning of colour and how it works, depending on your skin tone.

Like I said, Solmaz is a BRILLIANT colourist and if you ever need help fixing your colour or wanting to change it, you'll be in the best hands possible with her.

For reference, I haven't gotten a hair cut in a very long time and I went into the salon with curly waist length hair, which was very dry and dull. I came out with shoulder length hair that has never looked better.

I wanted to do something different, and desperately needed advice on haircare and products. I had only been to RUSH once previously for a styling, and came back because I really enjoyed the overall vibe of the salon.

I got my hair done by Suzy, and I am not disappointed. We did a thorough assessment, she asked me questions about the style I had in mind so I could be sure of what exactly I was looking for, and let me know what my hair looked like it needed (which was intense hydration). I had originally booked a wash and cut, but Suzy gave me a hydration mask (with Amika products), a leave in conditioner treatment (also Amika), and also styled my hair, which I was not expecting. She even showed me how to use a thermal brush on my new haircut.

It's been about 4 days since I went, and I've had the chance to wash my hair and use one of the two products I purchased from RUSH (that was also used on my hair during the service). The cut still looks great, my hair is soft and hasn't looked this shiny or happy in a long time.

The whole experience was very reassuring and comfortable, and I highly recommend Suzy. The best experience that I have ever had at a hair salon! I had been going to the same hair stylist that worked out of her home for over 20 years and have been on the hunt for my new person. I have been to several different salons and stylists over the years and just never found a replacement for what I had until now! A friend of mine always has amazing hair so she told me where she goes.

Well today was the day! Solmaz did my colour and really took her time with me and told me what she was doing every step of the way. I have blonde highlights and my grey really shows through on the sides and I have never had a stylist truly cover it - they always said we can put a few highlights in there but I was always left with lots of grey which was super frustrating until now! Solmaz is a colour wizard and she is so genuine and really cares about the health of your hair and really listens to you plus she gives the most amazing head massage that I have ever had and I just felt so at ease with her. Heather did my cut and I had the same experience with her as well, really listened to me and offered suggestions and I received the perfect cut and exactly what I wanted. Everyone working there were super friendly and welcoming.
