I'd give it zero stars if I could, this was several years ago now but I've needed to get this off my chest as it's been sitting in the back of my mind for quite some time.
Back in 2015 I received terrible customer service from the video game store (EB Games at the time.) I had purchased a game in the clearance bin and there was some strange makeshift film on the top around the hole of the disk, I asked the clerk if this would affect gameplay and he explained it should work just fine. Brought the game home and obviously was not tested before it was up for sale and would not read at all. I went back the next day before work (I worked in village green mall) and the manager was incredibly rude, told me that it was "highly unlikely" that the game was purchased like that, basically accusing me of piracy. I just left the game on the counter and stormed off because I was that angry at the accusation. I was a regular customer before this and I never went back and I shared this experience with everyone I knew. I get the process when it comes to electronics, but the fact that I was basically gaslit by purchasing a game that looked out of sorts, even ASKED if there was something wrong with it which the employee said there wasn't, and then was treated like a criminal by trying to return it?! If I was trying to commit a crime in the same mall I worked in I would have lost my job. To this day I am still so furious about this. Cannot remember the name of the manager but I'm hoping since the place has changed brands and it was about 9 years ago, he is no longer there. He has no business being a customer...
Read moreI love this mall bc it’s nostalgic to me. There are some good stores… anchor stores like The Bay, Canadian Tire, Winners. There are some good smaller stores too, as well as a pretty busy food court. However, there are more cell phone & telecommunications stores than any one mall needs. It’s quite ridiculous to have 5+ (plus kiosks) in one small-town mall. Surely there are other local businesses out there that could benefit from a prime shopping location & could raise the profile of the mall. I personally go there about once annually to get my Mom’s body butter from The Body Shop & get a few Christmas gifts from Winners, along with the occasional trip to Coles Booksellers. I miss Purdy’s & their dipped ice cream bars. I was happy to see some local vendors that are usually at the local farmer’s market in a center kiosk spot. I was able to get a few more Christmas gifts from them. Those are the kind of businesses we need in the mall. I love the Village Green & they do decent marketing, but they need better recruitment & marketing towards quality...

I visited the mall yesterday for the first time in over a year.
I mainly just strolled around on my afternoon off. Everything was clean. Most of the kiosks are occupied with businesses which makes it more lively. Lots of clothing stores and cell phone shops inside. Browns socialhouse, Save on foods, Sport Chek, a liquor store, and Canadian Tire are connected to it.
Food Court current lineup: Opa Greek fries, Bento Sushi, Subway, A&W, Teriyaki Express, Jugo Juice, and Sizzling Wok.
Opa and Bento are always my favorites. Subway has had stale bread 95 percent of the time but I keep going back.
I tried Mr. Pretzels. Five bucks for a Nutella pretzel seems a bit steep. Note if you get the nutella drizzled on top it is a bit messy! However, it tastes really good and hopefully isn't 364 days until the next...
