I am seeing her for lymphatic massage as I suffer from post surgery edema. Her technique is very gentle and she understands my limitations and what is needed to help drain my lymphatic system. I went for my first massage last night. I originally thought I had lymph drainage problems and booked that appointment, after speaking to me she believed my issue was tension and not lymph so we did a deep tissue instead. Let me tell you, I will be back regularly. She was a sweetheart, talked to me about my body as she was finding tension spots and how to avoid getting them, talked about family and life and just a wonderful conversation. Needing a lymphatic massage, I booked based on her reviews. Having experienced several lymphatic massages previously from other therapists and training in them myself, I was extremely disappointed. Lymph massages are supposed to be light, where your only moving lymph, not muscle or pushing on the skin. This was aggressive and painful, while she pushed hard into my skin, repeatedly.
