This is the most nightmarish service I’ve ever experienced from a brand of this caliber in my entire life. Visiting the Louis Vuitton store in Shanghai turned into an absolute disaster due to their absurd reservation system via WeChat. First off, the entire process is in Chinese only, making it impossible for foreigners to navigate and complete on their own without help. Second, the confirmation SMS is sent to the phone number linked to your WeChat account, but if you registered with a foreign number, the SMS simply never arrives—no matter what you try. And third, even if you’re a loyal customer with verified purchases and receipts readily available on email, they won’t let you in. The staff just shrugs and says, “So sorry, you cannot go in,” like it’s no big deal. This is beyond frustrating—it’s humiliating and a complete waste of time, I was trying for more than 20! minutes. Meanwhile, hordes of local gawkers stroll right in to shop and take selfies, while actual potential customers like me and dozens of others get turned away in droves.
