Came to town with 4 teens to have some adventure, experience nature, and learn about the culture. I wanted to have someone that knew the area helping us find the best activities. Called Arenal late on Thursday night and Friday morning they had a guide JP at the entrance to the arenal volcano national park the next morning at 9:00am. He suggested we park a little farther up the mountain and then hike a loop and honestly it was a great suggestion. My kids had a blast and JP love and knowledge of nature was amazing. He taught us so many local facts as well as global facts about number of volcanoes, and the minerals that make up volcanic rock. Was interesting views were breath taking and photo album is full of great photos. Next we went to the Fortuna waterfall. About 25 minutes from where we ended our volcano tour. He got us right through and we by passed the lines. The falls are no joke. It’s physically demanding to go down and back up but if you can hack it it’s amazing and worth it. Water cold but so refreshing after the descent. More great photos. Then he took us to a little farm to table ranch for a buffet style of authentic food. Kids loved the food and the cultural that came along. We were so impressed we want to have them plan our next two days. Definitely would use this company if you want some help tailoring...
Read moreWhile they offered both private and shared tours, I recommend doing a private one (I did the shared one and unfortunately it wasn’t a small group at all - despite their name “small group private tours” - it seems that I was put into a much larger group with people doing completely different activities ..I was gonna do hiking and hanging bridges and some of the folks in the group had signed up for hot springs and quads .. and so had different expectations and ended up complaining after walking 10 min uphill on the volcano because they were told the hike was gonna be 1km , while I thought I was gonna walk 2/3 hours .. which means there was a lot of waiting … at some point we ended up being 30 people for the hike and the lunch.. not what I call a small group ) - not to mention all the ones who were not wearing the appropriate gear for walking because they expected other activities
it’s a shame cause the sights are beautiful and the guide was lovely - my bad I should have asked more questions to the company because it wasn’t very clear what the difference was in terms of experience (but the price difference between private and shared is only 50 bucks so I expected the shared tours not to be a tourist trap but...
Read moreI cannot express how amazing this experience was. We had never visited Costa Rica and we were hesitant about which company to use, but I am SO GLAD that we landed with this terrific company! Not only did we get the best company, but our guide Victor went ABOVE AND BEYOND what we could have ever imagined. I had booked 2 private tours through this company, and had so much fun the first tour that we begged to have Victor again on the second tour! The only downside I could find is that I am almost positive we will never be able to find a guide as amazing as Victor! He is hands down one of the hardest workers and went out of his way to make sure that we had the experience of a lifetime. I would highly recommend spending the extra money to do a private tour - we were able to personalize the experience to what we wanted and Victor made sure that it was an unforgettable time! He went out of his way to find some of my favorite animals and gave us many amazing life lessons along the way! I cannot express how amazing Victor was and how he truly set the tone for the rest of the trip. Just WOW - 5/5 stars does not do this company justice… will definitely be coming back! Wish we had booked every...
