Rafting Costa Rica — Local services in La Fortuna

Wow! Our family of 4 (2 adults, 8 year old and 10 year old) did the twilight nature safari float on the Peñas Blancas river. What a treat! We saw a sloth, howler monkeys, toucans, night Herrons, night hawks, a bare throated tiger Herron (that caught a rainbow bass right in front of us), a spectacled owl, a caiman, a king fisher, bats, toads, bats, and more! Our guide, Marcos, was friendly and knowledgeable. He worked so hard to make sure that we were in a perfect position to see different wildlife. At one point, the current was too strong to paddle back to see a sloth, so he jumped out and towed us backwards to see it. We didn’t see a single other boat on the river during our trip - so peaceful and relaxing. Dionis drove our van and was so friendly, too! They were well prepared with flashlights and binoculars for us, and Marcos was very patient as he pointed out different fauna during the trip. He used a flashlight to help point out animals in the trees, which was so helpful! The fresh juice and snacks (fresh cheese, fried plantains, and 2 types of freshly baked bread!) at Mila’s house at the end were the icing on the cake! There were facilities available at the launch point and at the end. This was an absolute highlight of our week-long trip to the La Fortuna area. Thank you for the incredible memories!...

Unforgettable Whitewater Adventure with Rafting Costa Rica!

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Rafting Costa Rica on a whitewater rafting tour yesterday! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations.

Our guide, Horacio, was outstanding—knowledgeable, friendly, and ensured everyone felt safe and had fun throughout. Our driver, Harold, and the safety kayakers, Ronald and Alejandro, were equally fantastic. Special shoutout to Ronald, who also served as our photographer and captured amazing memories for us.

The rafting itself was exhilarating, with beautiful scenery and plenty of thrills. But what truly set this tour apart was the surprise at the end. After the rafting, we were taken to a typical Costa Rican family-owned restaurant where everything was cooked on a traditional fire stove. The food was incredible—fresh, flavorful, and locally sourced from the backyard of the restaurant itself! The owner greeted us warmly, and sitting down for a delicious meal with our guides was the perfect way to end such an amazing adventure.
