First the good: the atmosphere and ambiance were great. We love the decor and vibes. It was actually why we chose this restaurant in the first place for dinner bc it looked nice. 2nd the drinks were good. I'm picky with drinks as most drinks are too sweet and loaded with sugar but they had some nice healthy drink options with real fruits and greens. Just a tip on the cocktails though, my husband got the passion fruit daiquiri but didn't taste alcohol at all so don't expect a strong pour, you might as well just order the cheaper smoothies.

The bad: Service was horrible and seemed totally disorganized. Our server took our order and then returned 3 to 5 minutes later to ask if we've already ordered Lol. It was kinda comical actually. Then after a long wait, we got totally wrong drinks brought to us. After telling them our drinks order again it was another long wait to get our correct drinks. Then the wrong main dishes were brought to us! 😣 Then we waited a long time for the correct dishes to be brought to us. There were no apologies for getting both our drinks and food orders wrong or for the long wait. Here's the worse part: I got the fettuccini with loins (steak) and it was the saltiest dish I have ever eaten in my life! It tasted as if the chef accidentally spilled a whole bottle of salt into it! It was so salty that I suspected it was tampered with bc I can't imagine a chef adding that much salt intentionally. And this is coming from someone who always adds extra salt to my food. I had to force myself to finish most of it bc I was hungry and didn't want to have to go to another restaurant after this. Also I didn't want to return it to the kitchen and risk waiting over an hour for the food again! Overall it was the worse meal and service of our Costa Rican trip and I wouldn't go back and can't...

This place is amazing! We just ate here tonight. We ate at a great restaurant last night so the bar was pretty high for La Fortuna and I wasn’t sure I could find a meal as good. I was wrong!

For an appetizer my wife and I shared the Aztec soup. It was like tortilla soup-but the best I have ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Great flavor, really tender.

I got the Lomo Saltado, traditionally a Peruvian food, but here they added the twist of a fried egg on top. It was so good! The hot sauce they brought was excellent as well—spicy but with a great flavor, a little tangy, went great with my meal and even the soup.

My wife got the Chante Verde Deluxe burger. It was so good she made me try it. The beef patty was perfect, the flavors and sauces also fantastic.

The fries were great. The salad was really good too. I’m usually a ranch dressing guy but the Passionfruit vinaigrette was sweet, tangy, but not sour and I loved it.

After our meal they asked if we wanted dessert. Since everything else had been so awesome I just told our server to surprise us. He brought us churros with ice cream. The caramel sauce was great and the churros were cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside with a nice soft doughy center.

They make all of their ingredients in house and it was obvious because the flavors were so incredible!!!

If this hadn’t been our last night here in La Fortuna I would’ve come...

El Chante Verde presents a unique and inviting dining experience that harmoniously blends rustic charm with a vibrant, botanical atmosphere. The outdoor seating area bathed in the warm glow of string lights, where diners can immerse themselves in a quasi-al fresco dining environment, shaded by lush greenery and modern, woven light fixtures that contribute to a laid-back yet stylish vibe.

Transitioning to the indoors, the decor adopts an eclectic mix of industrial and natural elements. The bare walls and exposed ductwork are softened by hanging plants and whimsical lighting, creating a juxtaposition that speaks to the urban oasis theme of the restaurant.

The culinary offerings focus on fresh, vibrant ingredients with a comforting touch. The salmon salad is a tapestry of colors and textures, promising a meal that is as nourishing as it is aesthetically pleasing. Moving on to the heartier options, the burger is a testament to the classic, indulgent flavors, enhanced by the presence of a homemade sauce and artisanal bun. And finally, a well-seared steak, accompanied by a medley of vegetables and a side salad, reflecting a commitment to quality and simplicity.

Overall, El Chante Verde seems to cater to a variety of palates, from those seeking health-conscious options to the ones indulging in a classic carnivorous fare, all within an ambiance that encourages diners to...

The establishment has a covered indoor section that connects to the outdoor area so there is no A/C. There was plenty of ceiling fans to keep us cool during our dining. I loved the picturesque, modern decor of greenery, dreamcatchers, and neon signs. We noted that our food was already prepared and sitting on the counter for some time before half of our drinks were presented to the table. The dishes were provided when 2 drinks out of 4 were delivered. Pineapple strawberry mango smoothie with water was delicious and refreshing! My friend’s version with ice cream was too thick to enjoy for me. The ice cream took away from the fruit flavors! Salmon bowl- The serving size of the salmon was generous with 2 filets! The salmon was cooked perfectly, moist and with flavor. The greens were fresh. I liked the sweetness of the passion fruit dressing but ultimately asked four a side of the dressing that came with the Mediterranean bowl. Funghi bowl - the mushroom bites were marinated in some sort of soy sauced based flavor and absolutely bursting with dynamic flavor! I only had a bite but it was delicious. Mediterranean bowl - tasted good but nothing to write home about Pizza - the 3 cheeses gave the pizza a ton of flavor! However, the dough was a big letdown as it had no softness or pillowy bite. It was more like a thin crust cooked with a crunch.
