Ginger Restaurant — Restaurant in La Fortuna

Stayed at the Rancho Cerro azul for 4 nights and ate at its restaurant. We initially were leery as the selection of items seemed small, but that is not the case, they have plenty of snacks and entrees on the menu. We started with a wonderful costa rica breakfast with fruit plate and fresh squeezed oj,followed by perfectly cooked fried eggs and gallo pinto. My daughter liked how her scrambled eggs were cooked and said she wanted to come back tomorrow and have the same breakfast again. Returned the same day for a light dinner and had a very good beef quesadilla and Patacones, highly recommend the juicy shredded beef and chicken in these snacks, made fresh from the kitchen. The service and hospitality in this restaurant was great. The server was dping his best to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. I really appreciated that. However, the food and quality of the food was really not good. We went to it due to raving reviews, including praise about the food. First, restaurant was empty when we arrived and stayed empty during pur dinner. We were only visitors (from approx 8pm till after 9 pm), so the atmosphere was not that great. I’m bias about this restaurant. Our server was great. He was on top of everything and made sure we had everything quickly. Having said that, the food was mediocre at best. I had a burger with a passion fruit juice and my girlfriend had a ginger teriyaki chicken with a mango smoothie. Somehow this added up to $60.
