We have booked two trips to Costa Rica with Costa Rica Inspirations.

On our first trip (in November of 2022) we began at Paradise Hot Springs and saw the Poas Volcano. We went on a rafting tour with a moonshine special boat tour just for two (fun and romantic!) We also went to a sloth tour and spent some time with a Maleku community person to learn about the culture. Then we went to the Rio Perdido Hotel in Guanacaste, Monteverde and learned about cooking. We went to Manual Antonio and enjoyed yet another environment. We concluded that visit in Naranjo at Chayote Lodge. Throughout that visit, we benefited from the expert guidance of Senor Rudy and learned about the different types of forests, biomes and environments.

We enjoyed it so much that we booked a second trip with our young adult children.

Our second trip was to Puerto Viejo where we spent a few days before visiting the Bri-Bri and learning about Native Chocolate making traditions and a bit about their world view. We spent the rest of the trip at Tortuguero. Again, having the expert guidance of Senor Rudy was a benefit and our children enjoyed Costa Rica and could see why we loved the land and the people.

I want to point out that we asked (each time) for an environmentally focused trip with time spent with the Native communities. Costa Rica Inspirations exceeded our expectations every time. Book with them! You...

Family vacations are important. Most of us spend a year working hard, just to save enough money to go slightly into debt when we finally muster the courage to choose a place that we hope will make it all worthwhile. But it’s more than just that! My kids are two years away from leaving the house, and opportunities to create core memories together are becoming fewer and far between. Maybe a better word than “important” is “personal.”

I’m a planner by nature and never imagined handing over purchases and planning to someone else. Christine, however, approached our trip with the same level of care and attention as if it were her own. She took into account everything—my kids’ ages, our unique needs, and even our appetite for adventure. She went above and beyond to answer every question and make the entire process effortless.

The transportation from San José to La Fortuna was perfectly on time, and the guides were absolutely phenomenal. If Rudy isn’t the number one tour guide in the country, I’d be truly shocked. It was like traveling with an ecology PhD who also happens to be an incredible teacher for all ages—fun, engaging, and inspiring. Listening to his life story only added to how remarkable he is as a person.

We had such a great experience, famoly of 5 for two weeks. We did a ton of activities, all planned by Christine and her team. Each activity was packed full of family fun, incredible views, and unbelievably great guides. We could not believe how every guide we had knew so much about the area, took time to show us so many animals and share their obvious love for this beautiful country. We had excellent drivers as well, all cars were comfortable and the drivers were happy to talk us to their favorite food spots along the way. At one point on our trip our youngest daughter got sick, Christine immediately helped us with a doctors appointment minutes away from where we were, took time to always follow up, helped us find medicine, good food (and mindful of allergies). We just can't say enough about how important it was to have so much support on this trip. We were able to have stress free fun knowing we were always looked after. We especially loved the canyoning, rafting and yoga, highly recommended! We can't wait...
