This small place was just WOW! The service from Pedro was outstanding. We went first on Father's Day. Maybe 10-12 tables total, plus a couple seats at the bar. There were 6 people in the kitchen cooking(open view). Best ceviche y patacones. Ever. We've been there several times. Always excellent. Langosta, Dorado, Pargo, Camarones, sopa. Everything was super fresh. Apparently known for their sushi. The sushi plates coming out looked amazing and very large! No me gusta sushi but it was tempting based on the looks! Like most everywhere else in Quepos/MA its super laid back but Pedro waited on us like a 5-star establishment, in shorts and tshirt, of course, ¡Pura Vida! Andrés, the boss/owner checked on our table as well as the others. Very attentive. I can't say enough about this place. BUT, It is an easily missed place, on the corner of the main street into Quepos(rt.235) and a residential street(calle Principal,Boca Vieja neighborhood), less than a half km north of the QUEPOS sign. Keep walking past Bahía Azul(meh) and the Marisqueria. Some old sidewalk sections that seem like you're headed to a questionable area, but it's not. You'll be glad you did. Or take a taxi. Tell them la Kukula in BocaVieja. That neighborhood seems to be part of the local fishermen 'marina'/area. The prices are almost unbelievable. I haven't seen better prices or food in the Quepos area. ¡Buen provecho! ...if u drive just park up the block in the neighborhood, no...
Read moreSimply Spectacular! Family managed restaurant easily missed at the entrance of Quepos. If you love eating good quality fish as much as I do, you must check this place out. We ordered the "Mariscada" (a whole lobster, three prawns, shrimp scampi, mahi mahi, tuna, and a Cioppino soup), the whole Pargo fish, and a "mixed fruits" batida (smoothie). Their batida was delicious and they explained it tasted that good because they peeled the fruits when they receive their order instead of using frozen fruits. You'll have to be patient as it takes time to get your drinks and food but it's really worth it. All the seafood was super fresh and delicious, portions were very generous and their prices are considerably lower than other seafood restaurants in the area. The Mariscada would have been enough for two people but we didn't know the size of it. We loved it so much that we are going back tomorrow to try their Sushi! NOTE: Parking is easier on the street behind it as you can park on either side of the...
Read moreMy wife suggested seafood since we were along the coast and after a week of rice and beans, seafood sounded like a good idea. Coming towards the end of our trip, we wanted to eat within a budget and not get ripped off like you would at the Marina. On google reviews for seafood, this place came up within the area so we gave it a try.
We parked on the street because the restaurant was located on the corner or a busy street- it was right outside of Quepos which we later discovered that this place mainly served locals. With that said, when we entered, the store was empty because the locals were economically impacted by the pandemic, eating out less at places like this.
If you come, which I 100% recommend, I would not leave without getting the seafood pasta with white sauce. It was the best pasta I have ever eaten in my life which sounds dramatic but I keep telling my wife, I cannot find it in the US. After eating a few bites of my pasta, she ordered one as well to go with...
