We decided to book with Iguana tours based on the recommendations of the hotel we stayed with in Coco. We were given Jenna’s number to book our tours. Jenna I believe is the owner of iguana tours. We booked for the rainforest, waterfall, and volcano tour. And we were told to be ready for 0715 am on the day of our tour. We were ready at 0715 am, the driver wasn’t present on the time. The original driver couldn’t find our hotel so Jenna sent another driver to get us. The driver was 1.5 hours late. We didn’t get on the bus still 0830. She did inform us the new driver would arrive in 40 mins, that was more than her estimated time. Jenna promised us that the delay in our trip won’t affect the timing/experience of the tour. We went to the waterfall for roughly 30 mins, the rainforest excursion we were told was going to be 15 mins only. We had lunch after the rainforest, and we were under the impression we would be going to the volcano but that was wrong. The driver/tour guide was driving us back. The other party on the bus were under the impression they were going to a cocoa/chocolate making tour. We asked them if they were going to the volcano and they said no. So we all dropped to her respective hotels without completing our third excursion. I immediately messaged Jenna about our experience, and she never responded. As a business owner who is quick to take a customer money, but you won’t own up to misleading 5 customers about their experience. We were really disappointed in her customer service, she never got back to us during our stay or after we left our vacation. I think running a business involves delivery paid services, honesty and great customer service. I hope Iguana tours and...
Read moreIn every way, Iguana Tours exceeded our expectations. We booked the horseback and waterfall tour with Herberto and this excursion ended up being my partners favorite part of our entire trip. The waterfall we visited was stunning, I got the best photos of our trip here. It was secluded and we never would have found it on our own. Herberto clearly cared a ton for the horses, the environment, and the plants. Watching him tend to the land was a highlight of our trip. We drive ourselves too the pickup due to a slight accommodation mishap and while we waited for the other tour guests to arrive via the included pickup, JC, another Iguana guide gave us some wonderful information and pointed out some squirrel monkeys. This was an unexpected treat and we knew from this interaction alone the high caliber of guides Iguana employs. Finally, we left our swimsuits. Herberto did everything humanly possible to prevent this and yet we still left them behind. The member of the office staff who helped us recover them was super communicative and went above and beyond helping us retrieve our belongings. Overall we were very impressed with this company and would absolutely tour with them again in the future and would highly recommend...
Read moreWe used Iguana Tours to book a guided hike of Manuel Antonio National Park as well as Horseback Riding Tocori Mountain & Waterfall tour. Both of these excursions were fantastic. On the hike of the national park we saw crabs, some cool insects, butterflies, sloths, lizards, and howler monkeys. The hike is short, but we stopped frequently to look at wildlife so it still ends up being roughly half a day tour. It ends at a beach where you have option to stay at the beach and find your own way back to hotel (if you want). We opted for that…there were so many capuchin monkeys on the beach; they were clearly comfortable with being around people. We did another trail in the park leading to a lookout spot with nice views. Our guide Andrey was really funny and kept us entertained despite the heat!
The horseback riding tour was awesome. Our guide Gilberto was knowledgeable and friendly. My wife loves riding and the guide allowed her to lead the trail with the horse that likes to be in front! The ride was nice and the waterfall at the end was amazing! It was just the two of us so we had a nice private swim in the waterfall. It was secluded and peaceful. Horses seemed...
