A very good hotel for the price. It’s a new hotel (only a few months old), with most of the bedroom furniture still fresh and very clean. Located in a residential part of town, it’s surrounded by older houses which might feel a little less safe after dark, but overall the location is excellent—just a 7-minute walk to the city centre. Amenities are quite minimal: no iron, hairdryer, kettle, or cutlery, and the room can feel a bit stuffy at times, but it has a safe in the room. The restaurant serves dinner and caters for private parties which can make the room noisy. There was a birthday during our stay and we could hear the music and noise, though luckily we managed to sleep as we were too tired that day. The hotel should consider managing music and parties. However, the on-site restaurant really makes up for it, offering good food at reasonable prices and outstanding service from all the staff, both at the restaurant and reception, who also helped us book some last-minute activities.
The hotel markets itself as a roastery, but apart from offering roasted coffee beans at the souvernir shop and coffee props, we didn’t notice anything that really made it stand out in that respect. Breakfast, while free and very good, was slightly disappointing in that they only offered one black coffee per person (other coffee types, like capuccino, latte, etc were payable). If I were running a roastery, I would have expected a bit more generosity with the coffee and for the theme to be more prominent (a bit more explanation of the type of coffee and taste notes being served, more coffee beans options to choose from, a small coffee experience, etc).
Overall, still 5 stars for the value, central location, and excellent service by all the staff. A few small touches, like a kettle, an ironing board, and a stronger emphasis on the roastery concept, would have elevated the stay even more. I would still highly recommend for travellers on a budget and is probably the best you can get in Quepos for the...
Read moreWe CANNOT recommend this place enough!! My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The staff were absolutely incredible, always brightening our day and making our time truly memorable. Special shoutout to our server, Gabriel, who was always such a pleasure to talk to and went out of his way to accommodate any of our requests and offer thoughtful suggestions! Also, the front desk clerk, Melina, who made us feel instantly welcome with her warmth and enthusiasm and equally went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed at any point! The location was perfect, easily within walking distance to all the attractions within Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Not to mention, the place itself was SO unique and well-thought-out down to every detail - from the architecture, to the gift shop, to the rooms that were spacious and stocked with amenities' - overlooking the coffee roaster and the parts of the town, and the COFFEE and the food at the on-site restaurant which were easily some of the best we had in all of our travels in Costa Rica! We had a hard time venturing elsewhere to eat because there were so many incredible dishes on the menu that we wanted to try! All to say, we would highly recommend this place to anyone travelling to the Quepos area and we sincerely hope that we get the opportunity to revisit in the...
Read moreI've recently stayed at Bonding Restaurant Coffee Roaster, Café & Hotel whilst visiting Manuel Antonio National Park. The hotel is nice, featuring lots of wood and open spaces to create a modern and appealing atmosphere.
The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, and were always happy to help.
The room itself was nice, with a comfortable bed and a nice modern bathroom. There were a few things that fell a bit flat, such as the lack of a fridge in the room, no bedside lamps and certain elements of the room felt not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.
Breakfast was included with the rate, and included a choice of three dishes. One was pancakes, then there was also an omelette with toast and a traditional Costa Rican breakfast plate. We sampled both the pancakes and the omelette during our two-night break; both were great. The coffee was also incredibly delicious.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would recommend it if you were planning on heading to Manuel Antonio, as it was...
