We asked a local what restaurant they recommended and this one was mentioned! I’m so glad we went here because the food was so good & we got so much for a very fair price. We were a group of six and shared appetizers and each of us ordered our own meal as well. Our servers were very nice and accommodating for our big group. I ordered the chicken tamarind, the patacones (comes with fish ceviche, refried beans, shredded beef, and pico de gallo), and blackberry smoothie but I also enjoyed the fresh chips/guacamole/shrimp ceviche! Since there were six of us, we had more guacamole/ceviche than chips, but when we asked for more chips they gave us more. Also, most places generally offer pineapple, watermelon, and papaya smoothie so it was my first time trying blackberry & it had a sweet and sour taste I enjoyed a lot. My friend got melon, which she let me try, and it tastes like you’re drinking cantaloupe. I enjoyed that too! It was super delicious and I would have loved to come back again if I had more time. Definitely recommend. Do note, if you’re used to fast service, food will take longer to come out. Here in Costa Rica, remember you’re on vacation and things will be slow. So take the time to sit back, relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and converse with those...

The service is horrible. The waiter brought us a sandwich made with catchup and mayonnaise, instead of the chicken soup I ordered, despite me using the Spanish words and pointing out what I was ordering from the menu and showing it to him. When I pointed out the mistake, he said it was my mistake. I asked for the menu, but he didn’t bring it back, instead he conferred with his manager, and came back to tell me the soup had been reordered but that we would have to pay for the sandwich. When we told him we were not paying for the sandwich, he said that we had no choice but to pay. When we told him we would be leaving the restaurant unless he took the sandwich away and took it off the bill, he then changed his tune.
I don’t judge service by mistakes being made, but rather how they are handled. Tiquicia failed in this aspect.
On a sidenote, when we were here last week, we saw another tourist arguing the items on the bill when paying. She had been charged an extra $5 for Guacamole which she didn’t order it. She also got the menu and showed them where the confusion occurred how ever they told her she would have to pay this extra amount.
Needless to say, don’t be surprised if they try...
Read moreThe food is delicious, but the waiters deceive the customers, bringing them not the dishes you ordered, but more expensive ones. For example, I clearly showed what I needed, the total was 7700 colones, but the bill was a little more than 10 thousand, since they brought another drink, 2 times more expensive than what I ordered, the main dish was 500 colones more expensive, and They charge 10% for service, although no one warns about this in advance. Maybe the girl who took the order doesn’t understand English, I don’t know Spanish, but I clearly pointed my finger at the dishes and drinks that I wanted to try, but they brought me something that costs more, taking advantage of the fact that I don’t know how certain dishes look like. I managed to reduce my check by 1000 colones at the checkout, but the impression remained extremely negative, I do not recommend visiting this restaurant if you do not want to...
