Staying at the Leonardo Cypria Maris, Paphos, Taxi was €12 and there in 10mins, buses run but you have to get 2. Right at the top of the hill, lots of little places and some really good quality stuff. As they say you get what you pay for, usual copies of the famous brands but the leather bags are of a really good quality, pure leather. Some shops will barter and some wont, no harm in asking though as in one shop we managed to get €30 off a statue my son was after. Plenty of cafes and only a 15 to 20min walk down the hill to the New Kings Avenue shopping centre, expensive, we had a few sale items in the Under Armour shop which when checked online we couldn't beat the sale price. Read moreI recently visited the Old Town Market in Paphos and found it to be a bit underwhelming. While the market has a charming atmosphere, the variety of shops left much to be desired. Most of the stores seemed quite similar, offering the same types of products, which made the experience feel repetitive.
It's also a shame to see the old town being modernised. While some updates are necessary, it feels like the unique, historical charm of the area is being lost in the process. The market could benefit from a wider range of vendors and more diverse offerings to truly capture the essence of Paphos.
Overall, it's worth a visit if you're in the area, but don't expect too much in terms of variety...
