We have stayed here three times now, every time for 3-4 nights, in what is termed a studio apartment, I.e. One bedroom w a small dining table, okay bathroom, and a small compact kitchen. During our first stay, the apartment had, on the plus side,a full kitchen but on the minus side no way to get fresh air except through the entrance door(straight onto the street) and through the bathroom window. The other two times, we have stayed across the street, and although the "kitchen" here is actually just a mini-thing (no oven, just two cooking plates, but water kettle, toaster and small fridge), we like this better,as the room is a few steps up from the entrance, so no one can look straight in from the street and the window can be opened for fresh air. No breakfast, but a bakery and a grocery store next door. Quiet street. Bus just outside, going into town, or a 5 minutes walk to Østerbrogade, w bus number 1a going into Kongens Nytorv/Strøget/Magasin du Nord/Nyhavn etc every 6-10 minutes day and night. Plenty cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, clothes stores etc etc in Østerbrogade, and the lakes offer great opportunities for idyllic walks, plus there is the big park, Fælledparken, close by, w concerts etc during the summer.Cleaning 5 days, okay but not tip top. Extra towels for an extra fee. Good beds, a bit narrow. Friendly staff at the reception. Really good prices. We plan to use this place several more times in the future. No luxury, but everything you need for a decent stay, and the money you save by staying here can be used to experience all the delightful things Copenhagen...
Read moreMy friend and I recently had a 3 night stay at 9 Sma Hjem. The hotel reception is in a different building to where the rooms are. Be warned the rooms are on floor 5 of a building with no lift, so some level of fitness is required!! The room was of a good size, quite basic but had everything we needed. Our beds were comfortable. The shower / toilet room is quite small but we managed. Outside in the corridor is a ‘bar’ with coffee, tea etc which was a nice touch. Staff brought breakfast on a tray to us each morning and that always started our day off well. The blinds in our room were quite poor so didn’t prevent light in from the early hours. The hotel itself is in a nice neighbourhood and about a scenic 25/30 minute walk to central Copenhagen. We checked out on a Sunday so the hotel were unable to hold our suitcases and we had a late flight so this was a shame. Just something to be aware of as the reception is only open 8am-4pm Mon-Fri. Overall we had an enjoyable stay, it feels more like an Air BnB but with the added bonus of breakfast served to you each morning! If you are looking for a budget friendly hotel in a nice location then this is the...
Read more3 locations; I stayed at Thorsgade 101. 91 steps up, no lift. Just adequately clean--certainly not squeaky clean. Room has minfridge, coffee maker, sink, large wardrobe, desk, tv with about 30 channels, heat (no a/c), windows that open (lots of noise; choose a back room for more peaceful sleep), 2 small kitchens with basic implements, washer and dryer (free), pay phone. Comfy rooms and beds, certainly not deluxe; sturdy furniture, rooms probably not updated in 30 years, but they are adequately clean and tidy. The annex rooms on Thorsgade are very good value, 1000 DKK/ $175 USD per week. About 10 minutes by frequent bus (6A) to Norreport Station. Breakfast delivered to rooms Mon-Fri. Weekend and after-hours arrivals to Thorsgade locations must fetch keys from the bar on the corner. Central reception at Classensgade has free internet for guests. Service is barely adequate, and smiles are rare. Superb value if you can put...
