A total disaster supermarket. While there is good product variety, everything else is a joke. Products all over the place. Like you will find let's say shampoo in 3 out of the 10 alleys. Really ? One place and that's it. Not all over the place. BE VERY carefully with pricing. They are thieves when it comes to this ; videos and pictures attached. 10-15-20 bags of a product in one place , price marked at XXX, yet the the cash, product shows 2 o 3 times more. So we are no talking 5, 10 pesos difference . I am taking from 525 pesos ( shown price ) to over 1400 pesos at the cash. THIS is JUST ONE example , but there are a few. Not as clean as other supermarkets, but decent. PROMOTIONAL OFFERS ONLY valid with their card !!! IF you DON'T have the store card , they will NOT APPLY promotions. So very easy to get robbed because the "promos" attire your attention and make you buy stuff, but then you pay Full Price ! BE AWARE, not...

La Sirena Puerto Plata is a good place to buy everything you may need on your vacation, located at El Malecon of Puerto Plata, it's full of merchandises, full of good offers, clothes, medicine, hardwares and more, but the most important thing is the Food Court, you can have a full meal for a cheap, with a buffet-like service, you can bring your whole family and enjoy a really inexpensive-good food that you won't have in any restaurant if you are on a budget trip. I've tried myself a few times and the food is excellent, there are a lot of good food to choose from and you may save a lot of money eating here.

Be smart and go to La Sirena, buy your stuff and then jump to the Cafeteria at the second floor and have a nice meal for you or for your whole family.

If you are visiting the Puerto Plata/Sosua area La Sirena is the perfect stop to get stuff you would find at a Walmart in North America with an island flair. They have a supermarket side with local cheese, bread and pastries, frozen stuff, meat, cans, drinks, clothing and household goods. Prices are fair and marked so no "you pay more cuz you're a tourist". There must be 5 or 6 ATM's although I only use the one from Scotiabank inside. Small food court with a variety of food. You can pay with a Visa/MC card at the checkout as they have modern payment terminals which limits the possibility of credit card scams which are very common in the DR.
