What a disappointment… this restaurant unfortunately does not deserve a recommendation nor return visit. We wanted to branch out from our stay at the Sheraton to see if Sofitel was worth our time for a future stay and found the reviews to be enticing at this restaurant. The menu was limited, about 4-5 main course options on their first page. Their second page had steak from Australia but that’s not why we came to Fiji (the other reviews show fish, lobster, and other seafood). Drinks were decent. Yet upon ordering, the entrées were served as barely appetizer portions. The pork belly was served as 3 bite sized pieces, the dish was cold and when it arrived, the fat was not rendered down making it hard to cut through. A beautiful breadbasket was being passed around to the surrounding tables but sadly skipped us (at this point, we needed that bread!) We confirmed with our waiter, who was so sweet, that these were correct as mains/entrees and was not an ordering error on our part. We sent back the cold pork belly and asked for the check. They returned with a new pork belly dish and the manager (I assume) came to apologize and say the chef wanted us to have the dish and it would be removed from our tab. At check out, they charged us for the dish. Would you pay $136 fijian for this? As a 5 star hotel, really?? SKIP.

Waitui Bar & Grill within the Waitui Beach Club is an adults only restaurant on the resort, which is a great options for people not travelling with kids to get away from the noise and the chaos of the family areas. The breakfast here is really good, highly recommend the smashed guacamole with poached egg, eggs Benedict and the coconut pancakes. For lunch for afternoon meal, the pizza is a good option and easily feeds 2-3 people. The meals are pretty generous so sharing for lunch is a good options to not overdo it for dinner. Lunch options from 10:30am - 3:30pm available to order by the Waitui Beach Club pool or dine at the restaurant. The staff are just sensation, it’s amazing how friendly and attentive they are. Always greeting us by our names and making us feel welcome with their warmth and smiles. Service is incredible. Update: we just returned from a second stay, one year on and we had the most fab time. So relaxing and joyful at the Waitii Beach Club. The staff are a joy and it’s amazing that so many remembered us from the previous year. Special shout out to porters Robert and Dawai, Mary at Bazaar, and the gang at Waitui Beach Club - Bai, Wilma, Sasha, Suli, Lee, Paulini, Bulou, Salote and the wonderful Finau - they all treated us like family, big love to all and I hope I didn’t miss anyone.

We had breakfast and dinner there. Breakfast is amazing with an A la carte menu, you can order anything you want. The portions are very generous and we struggled to finish all. There is also a buffet with fruits and other gratuities, smoothies, muffins, fresh coconut and mimosa. The breakfast is very quiet and peaceful, with views on the beach, the staff is amazing. During our 3 nights stay, we went there only once for dinner. The entrees and the main courses were absolutely great, we didn't order dessert as we were already full. The steak was amazing, cooked to the perfection. The sides were also very tasty. Our two other dinners were at the Bazaar where the quality is obviously lower but still great for an all-you-can-eat buffet and the price is more affordable (89$FJD). I think we enjoyed the Waitui dinner this much because it was a one time thing, if we did all our dinners here, we probably wouldn't have loved it this much as the menu is quite small so we would be eating the same thing every day.

Winning combination with both food and staff. Most importantly the staff are dedicated, kind, hand working and deliver a very beautiful service. Mary, Wilma, Keasi, Bai, Amanda, Kat and Vau are such beautiful, beautiful people and assist with the delivery of an awesome evening. These reviews you read speak the truth and I speak from the heart.

The food is exquisite, and with a very rare service delivery makes it a winning combination. Like others who have commented, I would fly to Fiji, just for a meal here.

10/10. Get your ass down here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you’ll see for yourself what the winning formula is. Look around you, there are hundreds of acts of service which make this 5-star, world class service.

Did you know many guests look forward to returning to this gem and reminiscing their time here and reconnecting with the staff? It’s quite a rarity in itself.

Like all wonderful places, this place has subtle details. You’re best to find these for yourself as I’d be writing an essay if I would write all the small details which also prove to have winning formulas.

A big shout out to Siti who overseas everything. He is an absolute...
