Waitui Beach Club — Hotel in Viti Levu

Having just returned homw after an 11 night stay at The Waitui Beach Club we are still in awe of the A-MAZING stay we had! The staff are ALL incredible - from the front line staff to those who probably get very little praise BUT who contribute greatly to the overall holiday experience. I want to give a HUGE 'vinaka' to the housekeeping team (Bula! Clare! All the very best for your new job opportunity in Australia!), the chefs at the Bar and Grill who cook up a storm each and every day!, the gardeners who are relentless in their efforts to keep the grounds in pristine condition; the cleaners - oh my! - what an amazing team THEY are! Where would we all be without cleaners to clean up the mess sadly some people leave behind them :-( THANK YOU to you! The pool attendants who keep the pool as clean as possible; the laundry staff who did an amazing turn-around job for all our laundry.....So sorry if I have forgotten anyone here. Now, a BIG shout out to our 'adopted' (grandson), Makabugu, Romeo! (You could not do enough for me when my hubby was not too well).To some of the many, many friendly staff whose smiles and sense of humour always brightened our day - to name just a few of the great human beings who treated us like a king and queen are, in no particular order: Solo, (congrats on your promotion!), Vau (cheeky girl that one!), Lusi, Suli, Wilma, Paulini (great leadership!), Mary, Seta, Lee, Izzy, Arnie, Annie, Inoke, Nate (a.k.a, Late, Sate!!!), Amanda, Josi, Jeli, ..... plus, plus, plus! Our family loves Sofitel Fiji team and resort. From the moment we arrive you are embraced with pure warmth and joy from the team. This time we met General Manager Vincent and from his sophisticated, confident and warm demeanour we can easily see why the resort is amongst the best worldwide we frequent. We also me Cuong the executive chef and his hospitality was amazing to us. Our dealings with almost every person now in the resort are happy and joyful interactions. The sofitel fiji team have as many stars as the fiji sky. Shining bright is Annie Ryland who is such a beautiful person and appears everywhere as she works tirelessly to ensure every person is given the best experience at sofitelfiji. Other star of note that i can recall off hand Oni (who went out of her way whilst managing busy breakfast service to personally escort our elderly parents from there room to breakfast in the rain to ensure they safely arrived warm and dry), Finau, Brooke Jolly, Lili, Kata, Romeo, Wilma, Rachael, Amanda, Melinda, Dee, senitiki, Vau, ifoisi, Mel, Donald, Seta, Siti, Julie, Anna, Silipi, Bai, Paulini, Susie, Payal, shweta, Francis, Uria, Joe, Robert and Ozwald...honestly everyone we have dealt with shines bright so forgive my memory for any names missed. We come frequently to connect as family but also recharge with the pure fiji spirit of joy and gratitude that permeates from Sofitel Fiji. My husband and I recently spent 9 nights at Waitui beach club celebrating our honeymoon. And to say it was the best trip ever is an understatement. We stayed in the adults only section and had the time of our lives.

From the moment we arrived at Sofitel till the moment we left, we truly felt like a part of the family and were made to feel right at home. The exceptional, professional and kind treatment by all of the staff were absolutely impeccable. They made our trip.

To call out a few people that made our trip so memorable from Waitui include Irfaan Ali, Isimeli and Valerie from the pool bar, Meli, Seta, Romeo and Annie. Whilst everyone provided exceptional service, these ones made our trip memorable. We will always remember them not as staff but as family who made our trip so special. They were kind, caring, efficient and made sure we were always well looked after. These staff are truly a testament to Waitui beach club and deserve great acknowledgment.

We will always return to Sofitel just from the experience, the hospitality and memories made on this trip and we will only recommend this place to our family and friends. Would highly recommend for a adults only trip!

Our only few suggestions would be to have more smaller snack items on the menu as sometimes when we’re by the pool we just wanted to nibble on smaller foods rather than big meals; have music playing throughout the day and have some people doing massages while we are at the cabanas - that would have taken it to the next level.
