We made a day trip to Colmar during our recent stay in Strasbourg and enjoyed the charming Christmas Market scene held around the city centre. The annual Christmas Market is held during Advent (late November until 29 December each year. There are signs from Colmar Central Station clearly pointing the way to the city centre and main market squares, the walk is around 12-15 minutes. The market is up and running from around 10am each morning.
The Christmas Market in Colmar is spread out over a handful of public squares where you find traditional Christmas market stalls selling hot wine, seasonal food, holiday ornamentations, gifts and related items. Everything blends in nicely with the medieval appearance of the city centre, creating great atmosphere to enjoy the holiday season.
