Was so nervous to go after reading the reviews! But we had such a great time!! It was perfect. Bit of a language barrier for us so hear are my tips. Go relaxed. All bodies shapes n sizes. Wear knickers or bather bottoms. Door to hammam left of food stand Shoes off walk thru to lockers Undress Go thru to showers wash then walk thru anti chamber into hammam Hammam is hot marble find a spot. Wash is down w hot water. Wash your body w soap in packet. Do not use the hand scrub. The women use that to wash you later on. Lie on the hot marble, soak in the heat. Use tepid water to cool down if you feel too hot. Get your friend to wash your back. At the back of the hammam go thru to the cold pool. Stay low as the steam is very hot!! Literally crawl into the cold pool. It is so amazing. I love it soooo much. When you’ve had enough go back to anti chamber snd wait for the women to call you. Women will call you to lie down for a scrub. This is when they use the hand mit (this is not the massage-it’s a scrub) If you’ve booked a massage go back thru the lockers then to lounge room and lie on the couch. You’ll be given mint tea. You can prob do this even if you haven’t booked a massage. Wait and they will call you for a massage. We found all the staff super friendly. We had such a great time. We came here 18 years ago and we will be back again before long. Do yourself a favour and go it’s heavenly. We found it clean...
Read moreI have been to the Hammam twice, in 2023 and again in 2024. It is a very special experience — the steam, the scrub, the massage and the tea served while you rest afterwards in a tiled room with a fountain at the center. The receptionist has always been very welcoming, explained what to expect and answered all of my questions. Every room is beautiful and very clean. All of the staff is helpful and although I only speak English, everyone went out of their way to help me understand where to go and what to do. Some specifics: you can wear your underwear or a bathing suit, reservations are not needed, the massage is very relaxing (not deep tissue), the price is reasonable, remember to bring your shampoo if you plan on washing your hair, everything you will need (towel, scandals, black soap and scrub sponge) is provided with the fee. I strongly disagree with the negative reviews. This is a memorable experience not to be missed and I recommend a visit to anyone visiting or...
Read moreI used to visit this hammam often in the past and returned here last Friday, the 7th of February, for the first time in years. When I arrived, there were two women at the front desk engaged in conversation. Neither of them acknowledged me, although one of them faced me directly while avoiding eye contact. They continued to ignore me even after I said “bonjour” to them twice. It was not until another employee approached and greeted me that the women at the front desk decided to attend to me. They were deliberately and inexcusably rude. No patron of any establishment should ever be treated so disrespectfully by its employees. That being said, there was another employee there who was very personable and helpful. Her name is Sijiri (I don’t know the proper spelling but it means “moonlight”). She should be recognized for being such a lovely person and set as an example for the other employees of this...
