Avoid this hotel if you don't want to get charged four times. I stayed in this hotel for one night. They had put a 'preauthorisation' on my card, which ended up going through when I made the reservation. I had noticed but thought it was just a preauthorisation (payment gone through once). Then when I checked in , they charged me- it went through for the second time. The day I left, they charged me again (going through the third time). They then charged me again the day after I left. I called to communicate this today, and the person at the reception told me that whoever charged me it wasn't the hotel eventhough it shows the same entity charging you (Hotel de France). I spoke with my bank and they confirm that they charged me on the 3rd but now have revoked it (when I was on the phone without acknowledging that they charged me) , that a pending transaction on my account is now not pending (clearly they realised that I know they are charging me multiple times) and that the payment has gone through a total of 2 times as they put back the one charge just now. I have now called the hotel and asked for you to remove my personal bank account details from your system. My bank is also checking for irregular activity coming from this hotel since you're clearly abusing your clients account information. My bank also advised me to call the hotel to ask them to remove my detailsbut this is a very fraudulent and unprofessional experience that has ruined my stay in Paris. I will be calling again if I notice and expect a refund. TO EVERYONE LOOKING TO BOOK HERE, BE AWARE YOU MAY GET CHARGED...

The receptionist was polite and friendly throughout, the location is central to a number of tourist attractions, and ok, its a budget hotel so I didn't expect the rooms to be big, BUT:

The room I was given (directly behind reception and right on the main road) was noisy all day & night People could see into the bedroom from the street! The rooms were not clean at all, with dust and dirt in all corners, a big burn hole in the net curtains, and the TV remote was so filthy that I didn't want to touch it The bath was very small and heavily stained, no chance to use it The extractor fan did not work so the bathroom filled with steam after every shower, as evidenced by the watermarks across the ceiling Condensation collected on every surface and soaked the toilet rolls, which were just sat on the side, as there was no holder None of the electrical sockets were properly secured, nor the light fittings, which had the wires exposed behind them The breakfast was terrible, as described in other reviews

The next day I moved to a hotel near CDG airport, for the same €200 per night, which was infinitely superior in every respect; much bigger, cleaner, properly fitted-out rooms, a spa, swimming pool, amazing restaurant, gym, and much more.

Yes, I understand that you are paying for the central location to some extent, but that in no way compensates for all of the other failings, the majority of which could easily have been addressed at no cost, just with a little care for the guests' experience. Very...

I made a last minute booking at a very affordable price for the 5th arrondissement. The location was perfect, literally 2 mins walk from the metro and a lovely 15 minute walk to Place d'italie.

The receptionist on arrival was incredibly friendly, I was dreading the room as it's a 2 star hotel. I was pleasently surprised! I was in a 1 person room with a small double bed, clean, comfortable. A flat screen TV with French channels and News in English. A small wardrobe and bedside table with lamp. The bathroom was small but i felt this was adequate for my needs. The internet worked exceptionally well, I expected it to drop out.

The room was at the back, perfect for me as noisy. I could smell smoking through the vents, room very warm, had to switch off heating. I struggled to operate the AC. There were plumbing noises but come on, it's an old building, Paris is very old.

I did have breakfast at 9€ a pop, it's pretty good for the area. You have a choice of cereals, toast, patries, cake, yoghurt, cheese, ham, pancakes, nutella, teas and coffee and juices. I felt it was good value.

Yes, the hotel is basic but it's in an excellent location, clean, friendly staff and it's Paris! I would not hesitate...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hôtel de France Quartier Latin and had a fantastic experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making check-in a breeze. The room was clean, well-maintained, and offered a breathtaking view of the Quartier Latin. In regards to the safety, Latin Quartier is considered as one of the safest neighborhood in Paris. I did not fell unsafe at all. Metro Station is 1-min walking distance from the hotel. The only minor drawback was occasional noise from neighboring rooms, but it didn't significantly impact my overall satisfaction. I would highly recommend Hôtel de France for anyone visiting the area and looking for a top-notch accommodation experience. Can't wait to return on my next trip! The room was very small and we faced challenges to open our luggage at the room.
