If you're seeking a microcosm of cultural richness and academic zeal, the OlyDorf Bungalows in Munich might just be your haven. Currently serving as your home during your research stint at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU), you're experiencing firsthand the lively atmosphere this complex has to offer.

Originally constructed for the 1972 Munich Olympics, the Olympic Village, or OlyDorf as it is colloquially known, was intended to house athletes. After the games, the Village was repurposed as a residential and cultural hub for students, especially those attending nearby universities like LMU and TUM.

Today, OlyDorf is teeming with students from across the globe, making it a culturally vibrant place to live. Its architectural design, with its blend of high-rise buildings and low-lying bungalows, has been both praised and criticized, but there's no denying it lends the area a unique character.

If you're engrossed in studies or research at LMU, you'll find OlyDorf to be incredibly convenient, given its proximity to the university and its strong connections to public transport. It's a place where you can immerse yourself not just in your academic pursuits but also in a diverse community that could very well offer valuable perspectives to complement your research.

In essence, OlyDorf Bungalows offer a rich tapestry of experiences, an extension of the academic and cultural mosaic that is Munich. Living here, even temporarily, provides a unique insight into student life in one of Germany's most...

Amazing hidden gem in Munich. The Bungalows have built originally for the Olympic Games in 70s and afterwards were provided as dorm for Munich students. The houses are painted by the students who live in these bungalows. Every Bungalow is approximately 60 qm and has 2 flours. Every building is unique and is telling a story of its owner. It is a great opportunity for Munich students to...

This is definitely a hidden gem you one hundred percent need to see. A former olympic village turned into student dorms that the students use super uniquely. You can see dozens of brightly colored bungalows every person paints according to them, so really a plethora of ideas and styles. You can wander around for an hour and just enjoy...
