A wonderful and moving memorial to the people who lost their lives during the Munich Massacre at the Munich Olympic Games in 1972. It sits on a hit that overlooks the Olympic Village where the hostage event took place. It is a covered memorial displaying a large video screen replaying the events of that horrific time in history. It also have information on the Israeli athletes who lost their lives and German police officer who lost his life. This memorial was officially unveiled on September 6, 2017 marking the 45th anniversary. We really enjoyed our visit and the amazing and detailed historical context provided by the memorial.
