I definitely recommend it as a day-trip activity for children kindergarten age and up. We visited the fashion exhibition which promised a hands-on experience introducing children to clothes and fabric. We were not disappointed.
The team guiding the children were well prepared and real professionals in how to tailor the presented material to the age of the audience. Our 4-year old child was impressed and children much older than her also seemed to be having a good time. It was fully interactive but also educational, with children learning about such topics as materials, care instructions, and creating their own patterns. The museum itself is not very large but the allocated 90 minute window passes by really quickly and you will wish that you could stay for longer.
Recommendation to visit their website regularly and keep track of the different exhibitions that they will put up.
Location/transport: It is slap bang in the centre of Stuttgart so consider public transport or one of the many Parkhouses...
Read morePlease ask your front ticket staff to be nicer at people who need English. Also, please ask the guy upstairs who checks bags at the exhibition to understand that some people need to hold onto medicines and cell phones in a small bag. Both are rude. It's my first time here, and neither seem to be awarehow their behavior impacts people or that people from all different backgrounds come into museums. Museums and culture is inclusive. If you feel distain for English speakers or can't put signs up in more than one language, then you aren't doing your job.
The only person willing to be a nice person is the tall guy at the entrance. The two others shouldn't be working in customer service.
I'm thankful for the tall guy. Maybe my review will change if I...
Read moreThe Children's Museum is a good way to kill an hour or so with kids. The staff inside the museum was super helpful and spoke both German & English. Signage in the museum is also in both languages. There was a lot of interactive stations for kids to learn through hands-on activities. Due to COVID-19, some of the displays were closed or roped off. Looking at other's photos on reviews, it seems that the museum changes themes ever so often. There were a bunch of birthday groups there and my kids didn't feel left out as the staff gave them undivided attention to make sure they were included and tried everything...
