Very nice location but the food is not that good and for that it is too expensive.
We had 3 starters, 2 mains and two side dishes. The still water came in an open carafe and cost 5.60€. For what is probably filtered tap water, I find 5.60€ a bit high. The starters were ok but did not meet our expectations. On the menu it said dim sum with Patagonian Rotschwanz Garnele which sounded very nice but when the food came, the Garnelen meat was blended into the dim sum which leaves me questioning why someone would blend such an exclusive sounding seafood. The mango salad was good but the coriander was too dominant.
The mains were the same unfortunately. All sounding very exquisite but the quality sadly only medium range. The broccoli side dish for example, was more like a salad with canned corn and salad leaves on top. We only found 3 pieces of broccoli in there and these were in a pan for a bit too long. What would be wrong with having a full plate of nicely steamed broccoli and shortly turned in butter? The Rinderhüfte was good but the asparagus which came on the side had too many herbs on top. Sometimes less is more!
Finally, the salmon was very nicely cooked but the seaweed topping had all the flavor dominated. Again, what would be wrong with letting the salmon be salmon? Without the seaweed, the mango chutney on top would have been a lot better as well.
I would love to come back in some time and find the food to have changed a bit. Until then I wish the owner best of success and I hope they can improve their food a bit. After all the venue and the service is...
Read moreShockingly Poor Brunch – Absolutely Not Worth the Price We visited Citizen Long today for brunch and were thoroughly disappointed. The so-called buffet was extremely poor and lacking even the most basic items. There were no cakes, no sausages, no boiled eggs, and many other standard brunch staples were completely missing. As for drinks, the only option was freshly squeezed orange juice – but you had to press it yourself. Other soft drinks? None. Just plain tap water. No tea, no coffee variations – only French press coffee, which you had to prepare yourself. For a place that advertises a premium brunch, this felt like a joke. To make matters worse, the buffet was not replenished regularly. Most of the time, trays were empty, and you had to wait for items to be refilled – if they were ever refilled at all. And for all this? We paid 32€ per person. This kind of poor quality and lack of service might be acceptable for 12€, maybe 16€ at most, but certainly not double that. Overall, this brunch was a huge disappointment. Overpriced, underwhelming, and poorly managed. We definitely won’t be returning and cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a decent brunch experience...
Read moreI had a friend visiting me over the weekend and I took her here for lunch. The worst experience ever, neither me nor my friends who tend to come here for lunch every Saturday will ever come again. The waiters were extremely rude!!!! after we ordered our food they told us to get off because of the time pressure they have in the kitchen, it took ages until we got seated. The way the waiters treat each other is just unacceptable in front of the customers. We asked twice how long it would take the food to be ready and they just told us to get off the place with no reply to our question. I am deeply shocked with this kind of service. Such a shame! The boss refused to talk to us upon request to provide feedback. There was one nice person who saved our lunch at the end we really...
